The past 18 months has rewarded bidding low as capacity was flush and freight was minimal in comparison. Now we are in award season for large enterprise shippers. Rates were submitted in late 2023 now coming to fruition. Will those same players be in trouble in 2024, or is this simply a blip on the radar caused by weather, Red Sea, and Panama canal disruptions? Prediction- sustainable rates until late Q3 and into Q4. Capacity crunch + holiday rush = spike in rates + compression between spot and contract pricing. Pain incoming for contractually obligated lowballers
