Happy #medtech Friday!! Keep an eye out for a DeviceTalks Weekly episode later today. 📣 I had a great chat with Kurt Haggstrom, chief commercial officer at Synchron, maker of a #neural signal collector (my terms, not theirs) that's implanted in a blood vessel in the brain. If you want to hear how Kurt describes this medical miracle, listen to the podcast. If you want to ask him questions he'll be speaking at DeviceTalks West. One of the hundreds of reasons you should attend. You gotta hear about this company. #dtwest2023 📣 Oh, and Synchron had some big news this week. See the links below. 📣 In addition at DeviceTalks West we'll be talking #neuromodulation with Cala Health, SetPoint Medical, Cognito Therapeutics, Inc., oh, and a little company called Boston Scientific at #dtwest2023. 📣 Moximed also reported important news this week. We'll have CEO Anton Clifford PhD on the podcast in a couple of weeks but you can read the news below. 📣 Speaking of news, my podcast partner Chris Newmarker will be on this week's podcast as well to discuss this week's settlement news by Philips. The link will be below. Where does it rank on the list of #medicaldevice settlements? We'll have a breakdown but share your thoughts below. 📣 We also might be talking Bigfoot Biomedical, specifically its acquisition by Abbott. But Sean Whooley and Danielle Kirsh covered that extensively in the Fast Five podcast (link below.) BUT.....BIG news is coming about Bigfoot Biomedical and #DTWest2023. Stay tuned. 📣 Of course, Abbott's Marc Taub is already giving a presentation/talk. Yet, ANOTHER reason to attend #dtwest2023. 📣 New speaker additions to the agenda! We'll be hosting a panel on new #interventional technologies on Day 2. Very happy to have Nitin Salunke, president/CEO of Supira Medical, Murali Srivathsa, president/CEO of Akura Medical, and Vinayak Bhat, president and COO of Elixir Medical Corporation. 📣 Ronovo Surgical secured $26 million as it begins to build out a #roboticsurgical product launch in China. I talked with two senior executives from the company in March on the DeviceTalks Weekly Podcast. See the link below. 📣 DeviceTalks Managing Editor Kayleen Brown and I will be attending the MedtechVISION conference next week organized by our fantastic partner, MedtechWOMEN. Please drop a DM if you'll be there. I look forward to meeting you!! 🌻 Before I hop on a plane on Sunday for MedtechVISION, I'll be celebrating my anniversary with Mrs. DeviceTalks tomorrow night! It's an outdoor thing so I hope the weather holds out. We got married outside 25 years ago and avoided a rainstorm so fingers crossed!! Have a great weekend!!

Women's Health Industry Expert | Strategic Advisor | Change Catalyst | Expert in Driving Organizational Transformation
Dr. Allyson Augusta Shrikhande, MD, Co-Founder, CMO was one of Fempower Health's first guests and it has been wonderful to see her work at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine evolve over the years. This was such an interesting conversation about managing #pelvicpain due to #endometriosis What I've also enjoyed is speaking to many experts over the years (tagged in post below) and watching so many #femtech companies working to innovate diagnostics, therapies, and more. The endo community is a strong one - the one thing I ask is we should approach each innovation with curiosity.....and collaborate. This is too complex a condition and too large a target market not to do so. https://lnkd.in/gCVVqrVB
🎙️ New Podcast Episode Alert! 🎙️ 1 in 10 women struggle with #endometriosis This complex condition can profoundly impact women's lives, often leaving them grappling with persistent pain despite undergoing successful surgeries. Earlier this year, we dove deep into the topic of endometriosis in a four-part series that resonated with so many in the Fempower Health community. Your engagement and feedback have been truly inspiring, highlighting the crucial need for continued dialogue and exploration of this challenging condition. Thank you to Margaret Melville Katie Donahue (Boyce) Shanti Mohling Caitlyn Tivy for those incredible discussions. This week on Fempower Health, I'm thrilled to welcome back Dr. Allyson Augusta Shrikhande, MD, Co-Founder, CMO for our third interview together. Dr. Shrikhande, a specialist in pelvic rehabilitation medicine and owner of Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine shares her insights on why pain can persist even after what appears to be successful surgery and what innovative approaches she's implementing to help alleviate this ongoing discomfort. 🔍 In our discussion, we delve into the nuances of endometriosis management, exploring both the medical and rehabilitative strategies that can offer relief and improve quality of life for those affected. I am also incredibly excited about the many #femtech startups focusing on endometriosis. The market is substantial, and as many industry experts have noted, it's essential that we all work together to make a meaningful impact. I could not agree more with this collaborative approach to innovation. 👉 Tune in to gain valuable insights into managing this pervasive condition and learn more about the cutting-edge methods being developed to tackle chronic pelvic pain. Your journey to understanding and managing endometriosis pain doesn't have to be walked alone. 🎧 Listen now 🔗 Link in comments 👇 #EndometriosisAwareness #PelvicPainRelief #WomensHealth #ChronicPainManagement #FempowerHealth #HealthcareInnovation #newepisodealert

From keloids to cystic fibrosis, we are trained on race-based heuristics that cause misdisgnosis and harm. I appreciated hearing from Dr. Andrea Deyrup and agree with her conclusions around why we oversimplify in our approaches to medical diagnosis. I am frustrated at the response by USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) but not surprised. Race and #racism are so embedded in our work that we need entirely new bodies of research in every field, on every disease… #premeds, we need you to help us redirect, undo, and reassess within medicine!!! Managing Director - Physician Growth Accelerator & TrackableMed - Accelerating profitable growth for MedTech, PPM & Specialty Practices
Do you love your website? If so... It probably needs some changes. I've worked with many practices that LOVE their website... It's got a smiling patient frolicking through a field of flowers and tons of "We are the best practice ever!!" messaging. While that might look and feel good... from a neuroscience perspective, it probably won't help drive the patient behavior you are looking for. Instead, ask... Does it speak to the pain points of your ideal patient? Is it super easy for a patient to contact you? How does it look from a cell phone? Does it have "scary" medical procedure images or videos? Check out Zed Williamson on the Physician Growth Accelerator Podcast for more tips on how to improve your website and get a response from more of your ideal patients. https://lnkd.in/dyFS2sje
