I just finished a really, really good book. They say “it’s lonely at the top,” and this certainly can be the case. But, it doesn’t need to be this way. My advice? Find a group of people that you can be authentic with. Find people that will support you during your ups and downs. Find people who share your interests, philosophies and dreams. Find people who deal with the same shit you do and just "get it." Find people who you want in your tribe. I promise you that the journey to the top is much more fulfilling when you’re not traveling alone. They say be careful what you wish for… I wished to see a bear on vacation last week.  And….boy oh boy, did my wish come true. My husband and I spent some quality time in the great outdoors and it was a blissful few days in nature. We kept hearing stories of bears near our property and I was bummed that we hadn’t seen one. Everywhere we went, I talked about seeing a bear and was constantly on the lookout for a bear. In the span of four days, we saw a deer and a snake…but no bears. Then, on our last day, just as we were about to check out, I opened the front door to leave our cabin and was greeted by this curious and friendly little cub. I mean, he seemed “friendly” enough that I felt safe to take a selfie. 🤣 My wish came true in the most unexpected way, and I can’t help but think… was it luck or did I manifest that guy? I am incredibly proud to work in logistics with these phenomenal women. Their dedication, resilience, and leadership inspire me every day. I work in an industry where ~70% of the workforce is men. And while I've learned to embrace my femininity (and not hide it!), this industry has taught me the importance of finding harmony by balancing my feminine and masculine energies. ❤️⚖️🧠 The stigma of “being too caring” or “having too much empathy” often gets labeled as weaknesses in business, while logical, dominating, and action-oriented traits are associated with power and success. But, it’s time to change this narrative and make space for more balance. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. And, if I'm being honest, I've been feeling a little burnt. Part of me recognized these feelings and was in denial. The other part of me ignored the signs and just kept going. Until.... I was forced to take a break - in the best way possible. This weekend, I went on my 8th annual girls trip with some of my favorite people. We left our Chicago routines behind and escaped to the mountains for some quality time together. ⛰️🌻🌲☀️ And it was exactly what I needed. We spent the weekend balancing outdoorsy activities like hiking and biking along with plenty of eating, shopping and lots of straight up chilling.🚴🛍️✌️ Being out of the office isn't just about recharging; it's about connecting and getting out of your comfort zone. For me, it's about being "off" -- and giving myself permission to do so. I feel like I had the chance to reset and (once I get through the initial Monday morning brain fog), I'll be ready for a big week ahead. 😉 When was the last time you turned "OFF?"
