#Happy International #Youth #Day Yesterday, on August 12th, we celebrated International Youth Day. This day is dedicated to celebrating the creativity, innovation, and energy of young people around the world. However, as a young person myself, I cannot help but feel disappointed that our contributions and efforts are often overlooked and not supported by organizations and individuals. As young people, we are often told that we are the future and that we hold the key to creating a better world. But it feels like our voices are not being heard and our dreams are not being supported. We are constantly facing challenges such as unemployment, lack of access to education, and discrimination. Despite these challenges, many of us are working tirelessly in various platforms and with highly professional people to make a positive impact in our communities. We are using our creativity and innovation to come up with solutions to some of the world's most pressing issues, yet we are still kept aside and not given the support we need to continue our work. This is not just a problem for young people in one particular country or region. It is a global issue that needs to be addressed by governments, organizations, and individuals. We need to create more opportunities for young people to participate in decision-making processes, provide access to education and training, and support their entrepreneurial initiatives. On this International Youth Day, I call upon all those in positions of power and influence to recognize the potential of young people and to support them in their efforts to create a better world. We are not just the future, we are the present, and our voices and contributions matter.

I am sharing with you an article that introduces three Georgian girls empowered by the European Union. Guess who is one of them?! It feels a bit strange to share my success story, but if other women hadn't shared their stories with me, it would have been difficult to find motivation and strength in certain situations. While it's important to be grateful for our achievements, it's crucial to keep striving for bigger goals. The objective of the campaign #Now (#Akhla), under which this blog was published, accurately reflects the above-described particularity of the journey towards success. In December 2023, Sakartvelo (Georgia) was granted candidate status. Granted with the condition that it fulfils the relevant steps envisaged by the recommendations of the European Commission. Each step towards the European Union opens up more and more opportunities for young people, especially for women. Now more than ever the citizens of Georgia have the greatest responsibility to make sure that everything is done for Georgia's accession to the European Union. Because the future of our European country belongs to us. I want women of Georgia to face fewer obstacles in achieving success, and I want young girls to have even more opportunities than I had. I want them to get empowered and make their big, beautiful dreams come true. For this reason, it is crucial for Georgia to fully mobilize in order to continue working towards European integration. EU Balkan Youth Forum 2023 Last week I had the opportunity to participate as a speaker in a panel on Education-Work Transition at the EU Balkan Youth Forum 2023, held in Serbia. The panel delved into the crucial theme: "Empowering Youth for the Future." Key questions that guided our discussions included the importance of regional collaboration and effective policy schemes for skills development. My contributions to the discussion centred around: 1. Erasmus+ Program's importance for the Western Balkans economies: highlighted the significance of the Erasmus+ program as a catalyst for connecting people and fostering cooperation across Europe. 2. Technology adoption in Western Balkans: emphasized the importance of upgrading the technology base in Western Balkans economies to create better job opportunities and enhance labour productivity. It was inspiring to share the stage with a diverse group of experts, such as Ognjen Marković, Françeska Muço, Besnik AVDIAJ, Filip RADOJEVIĆ, Sajmira Kopani.
