This summer I pushed out a few updates for my app "QR Me - Contact" and launched a landing page showing off the features! It now supports international phone numbers, lets you share social media accounts, includes a phonetic name field, and has the ability to label values (e.g. work phone, personal email, etc.) Just recently, it passed 28,000 downloads from over 60 different countries! This week I taught my last CodePath class! As a CodePath Tech Fellow at UCI, I’ve been teaching free quarter long classes for iOS Development and Cybersecurity for the past 3 years. Since Guillermo Ignacio Sanchez Lamas founded our club chapter of CodePath back in 2018, we’ve taught over 500 students across our iOS, Android, and Cybersecurity classes. I worked with some truly incredible people during my time with CodePath and it’s been an absolute pleasure watching our students learn and grow over the years. Spent some time over winter break working on my app, QR Me - Contact. I'm very excited to finally release Version 2.0! This update comes with a bunch of new features, including multiple QR codes, QR code titles, dark mode, postal addresses, and more. QR Me - Contact allows you to create your own personalized QR codes to share your contact information quickly and easily with anyone. Simply have the other person scan your QR code with their phone's camera and your contact will appear in their contact book. With the help of my mentor Jason Voll, I am very excited to announce the launch of Khan Academy's new redesigned Translators About page 🌎🎉 This was an intern hackathon project that I worked on alongside Cathy Wang, Yan Ke, and Jaclyn Saik. We want to recognize the amazing work being done by Khan Academy's translators and hopefully help inspire others to sign up to translate as well. The overwhelming support from full-timers to see this intern side project deployed was incredible and really speaks to how great Khan Academy's culture is! Today, I am excited to announce that I will be spending this summer up in Mountain View as a Software Engineering Intern at Khan Academy! Khan Academy was where I first learned how to code almost 7 years ago, back in Middle School. Now I’m thrilled for the opportunity to work with the organization that originally inspired me to pursue Computer Science. I cannot wait to start contributing towards their mission of providing free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.

Applying to Software Engineering internships as a 1st year with no prior experience except for personal projects and schoolwork is tough. Of all the companies I applied to, the vast majority of them ghosted me - never responding, not even sending a rejection letter. Constantly putting myself out there and hearing absolutely nothing back was disheartening. That is why I am so thankful to have connected with Koder, Inc. Yesterday was the last day of my Summer internship with them and it has been an incredible experience! As a backend intern, I implemented promotion codes/referrals for their platform, create push/feed/email notifications for their iOS app, and got to build out lots of endpoints! I met some amazing people there and got to work alongside other really cool interns. I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to prove myself and grow as a Software Engineer. To those out there still trying to land their 1st internship, don’t give up! Try to use your network. I found out about this opportunity from a good friend at school, Tristan Jogminas, who was able to help me get an interview. All it takes is one company to believe in you! Very excited to have taken the first steps towards starting my career as a software engineer.
