Our last Food Security event is coming up THIS FRIDAY, in Lennox Head. Of the 95 people who have attended, we've had excellent feedback about it and we've been so interested to see that even those who are growers and producers, who know their stuff when it comes to food, realised that they too were actually not ready for disruptions to our food systems, such as the like we experienced in the floods in 2022 when supermarket shelves were empty. This event isn't just a presentation, it allows participants to connect with like-minded locals and also learn practical ways to ensure we are all better prepared for disruptions. We will discuss critical issues surrounding food security within the region and welcome everyone so please invite farmers, growers, community gardeners, co-ops, food swappers, sellers, soup kitchens, resilience advocates, alongside consumers, to participate. You will engage in networking sessions and discussions focusing on producing, growing, accessing, and storing food. Additionally, insights from Plan C's recent study on food security in the Northern Rivers will be shared, offering both regional perspectives and practical solutions for individuals and communities.
