Another great event full of inspiration at YWCA Women of Distinction Awards evening with friends/colleagues of TI Corp nominated for Outstanding Workplace. It got a few of us talking about how on-site daycares were a norm in the project programming/design in our past. I looked it up last night to find the Treasury Board Secretariat Policy applicable for federal departments last modified in 2001 and costs upto $400,000 allowable in 1991 dollars - I’m sure there are updated policies to share and I challenge my UBC students to calculate the escalated allowable costs! https://lnkd.in/d5CTZ4ny Amanda Farrell Wendy Itagawa Jennifer Ng Anne Stewart Chantelle Gergley Nicole Asselin Lisa Dominato, MA, GCB.D

Sharing insights from the latest edition of The CSR Journal, where Dr. Veerendra Mishra delves into the evolving landscape of philanthropy. Highlighting the pivotal role of human rights, he underscores their significance as both a catalyst for social change and a measure of democratic governance. It's time to prioritise the full realisation of human rights, driving societal transformation. Moreover, key sectors such as the environment, women's empowerment, education, sports, skill development, and more are set to garner substantial CSR attention in 2024.

Co-CEO and Co-Founder @ Tidal Equality; Co-creator of Equity Sequence®; challenging the world’s most influential organizations to embrace equitable innovation and help build a just and resilient future for all.
I know progressive #Deans on U.S. campuses where #DEI is being banned and shutdown are facing a massive leadership challenge -- the question of how to keep stakeholders working towards the objective of equality, fairness and justice in higher education, without doing the work under the banner of banned #DEI programs and concepts. For those Deans, I'm hosting a high value session for $0, as a gift from Tidal Equality. At the session, I will share ways to harness the concepts of #equitable #strategy and #equitable #innovation to continue the work. Advocate of High Court of Kenya ||Maritime Law & Blue Economy || Marine and Environment Conservation||Climate Change Advocacy
The ground was scorching hot, the humidity and sun😭 but this did not matter, we came out in numbers to celebrate women. Both young and old, nothing gives me joy seeing women old as my mother and grandmother out here believing in conservation and the importance of conservation. 2024, women still grapple with numerous challenges: - lack of financial muscle to do incredible projects and innovations -early marriages and pregnancies(so many girls are still facing period poverty and end up in this unfortunate life scenarios) -lack of adequate information and capacity building. So many women still dont understand their rights in relation to land ownership. - Unfavourable education commitments, most higher institutions especially Masters programme require physical attendance than virtual learning locking out women who are also mothers, business owners a chance to achieve their dreams while expected to still fulfill their social obligations in their homes and families -Less pay in their organisations even after striving to attain higher education standards However they are still able to thrive and achieve so much. I have made a commitment to do more, to lend a helping hand to a fellow woman and accord her more grace. Happy International Women’s Day💫

Double Major in Finance and Management with a Concentration in Team and Project Development | Minor in Psychology | Bryant University Class of 2025
As a finance and management major myself, I couldn’t agree more. Finance is a male-dominated industry and I’m thankful that Bryant University has worked to create an environment where women can succeed. I encourage you to read the article for yourself. It’s full of valuable information about mentorship, as well as the struggles women face in the finance industry. We must continue to promote diversity and empower women in finance.
Professor Mara Derderian was featured in Poets and Quants talking about the importance of mentoring females interested in Finance. The article highlights some of the initiatives she is organizing at #BryantUniversity. https://lnkd.in/e5YeWGZH

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) occupies an ever more visible role in corporate and educational settings, and rightly so. For scholarship providers, this offers an opportunity to provide funds that allow students from marginalized backgrounds to pursue higher education that they might otherwise be limited from pursuing. Here are five basic principles and best practices around creating DEI scholarships. https://ow.ly/jVY150QxSEj

Literacy Pittsburgh is an honoree in the upcoming Engaging Pittsburgh Awards, where they'll be recognized for their outstanding achievements in the 'Innovative People Practices' category. With a diverse student population, Literacy Pittsburgh's staff leadership and board of directors recognize the importance of integrating diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into our organizational fabric. In June 2022, the board of directors adopted Literacy Pittsburgh's first DEIA Action Plan. The plan was developed with the assistance of Demeshia Seals of DLRS Solutions and Dr. Cheryl Hall Russel of BW3. It was based on a human capital audit, cultural survey, and input from staff, board, and volunteers over 15 months. The DEIA Plan is integral to Literacy Pittsburgh's overall growth strategy. It is managed by our DEIA Committee, which comprises board and staff members, with the assistance of our DEIA Staff Engagement Committee. The plan focuses on refining talent recruitment and retention to protect against bias, infusing inclusion and diversity into our strategic plan and leadership goals, and educating and reinforcing DEIA priorities with staff, board, and volunteers. Join us in celebrating their achievements, register for the event using this link: https://lnkd.in/e-KS94yb #phra2024 #inclusive #engagingpittsburgh #engagingpgh #HR #ilovHR #diversity #equity #equality #inclusion #innovation #empowerment #impactful #womenimpact #mentorship #literacy #education #knowledgeispower
