The hardest part about being a creator is always being up to date. You need to be on the ball. - What's relevant? - What skills do I need to adapt? - What social media platform do I need to leverage more? - What content format am I not using? - What's the data saying? It takes a lot of time to not only write content, but update your knowledge so that your personal brand doesn't burn out. That's why a lot of CEOs and companies hire creative directors. Across all of Riot's IP, players form the foundation of our communities, and often influencers and creators are an essential part of our player strategy. As the Senior Manager, Publishing Content Strategy (Editor in Chief) for Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra, you will helm a team of comms, community, social, influencer and content professionals across our broader game ecosystem. In partnership with games and publishing leadership, this role will develop, deliver, and manage all communications of the player experience including both high level strategy and day to day campaign tactics. In true "Editor in Chief" fashion, you are responsible for not just what we're saying, but how, when, and why we're saying it. The Editor in Chief will partner with PR and communications on external comms. Would it be crazy to hire a full-time content manager for my personal accounts? I'm spending an INSANE amount of time on social media now... And I really only focus on Twitter (and a little on LinkedIn). I want to dive headfirst into Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. But I just don't have the bandwidth for it. Content agencies seem way overpriced. I'd want this person to take handle: - Content planning - Video editing - SEO - Post scheduling - Analytics / data tracking - Trend monitoring All the content still comes from me, but the stuff above is what takes hours and hours of extra work. Does anyone have experience hiring an agency or full-time content manager?

A social media manager is NOT a: Community manager Paid social expert Graphic designer Social strategist Videographer PR specialist Data analyst Copywriter Producer One person cannot do all of that effectively. 63% of social media professionals are either burned out or have experienced it in the past. I'm not surprised. I've been there myself. If companies want to implement a mix of strategies on multiple platforms they need a team behind them. Stop hiring a Social Media Manager to do the work of 15 people. It's not cool. More importantly, it's not possible. (PS. We've just got back from filming some epic content in the Philippines.
