July 1st is now “Paid Time Off Day” in Chicago! Today, every worker in our city is guaranteed a week of paid vacation days and sick days, and the minimum wage increases to $16.20/hr. 1moMy job told me that because I negotiated 2 weeks of PTO when I accepted my job offer I am not eligible for the Sick Leave time. When I said the sick leave is separate from PTO under this ordinance. They said they would "take" a week of the negotiated 2 weeks PTO and convert 1 to sick leave. Brandon Johnson Is that allowed?
