My new article has been published in the March-April issue of the European Go Journal. This time, I write about the Ear-reddening Game, one of the most famous games in go history, as well as Michal Martychowiec’s art project “Reading History” that features it. Using these topics I draw parallels between the game of go and interpretation of history depicted in the modern art. #go #game #strategy #history #modernart

Latest From The Vault: Today, we are revisiting “For A Territory United as One: Characteristics of Qin Empire in Modern Turn-Based Strategy Video Games” by UC Santa Barbara alumni and New York University graduate student Vassili Zou from Volume 3, Issue II. This manuscript compares and contrasts the various characteristics of the Qin empire in two computer games, and uncovers the connection between the empire’s ruling ideology and its multi-aspect effects displayed in turn-based strategy games. Zou shows how the Qin’s ruling ideology — the legalism that emphasizes “agriculture and war” — was a powerful engine for Qin’s conquering performance in both history and strategy games. https://lnkd.in/gtbbqfNC

I published my new episode atom relay game.mp3, please check it out https://lnkd.in/gR2d_i-s Play is crucial in science learning as it fosters curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving. Through hands-on activities, children grasp scientific concepts intuitively, promoting deeper understanding. Play enhances cognitive skills, encourages a positive attitude towards learning, and lays a foundation for lifelong scientific inquiry. How to introduce concept of (atom) to pre primary and primary kids😇🌞 let's Play a game ATOM RELAY

📃Scientific paper: Memoryless Strategies in Stochastic Reachability Games Abstract: We study concurrent stochastic reachability games played on finite graphs. Two players, Max and Min, seek respectively to maximize and minimize the probability of reaching a set of target states. We prove that Max has a memoryless strategy that is optimal from all states that have an optimal strategy. Our construction provides an alternative proof of this result by Bordais, Bouyer and Le Roux, and strengthens it, as we allow Max's action sets to be countably infinite. A long-posed question by mathematicians and children alike is if the card game Beggar My Neighbor (similar to 'Egyptian Rat Screw' or 'Slaps') could possibly go on forever; in other words, is there an infinite loop that the game could enter into? I have been independently researching this question for a long time, from brute force (with over 5*10^11 simulations of the game) to methodical pattern searching. With an online community contributing to this problem for over 30 years- started by the famous mathematician John Conway- a solution has been found by Brayden Casella! Check out the paper, my first ever publishing:

I am pleased to announce the release of a new blog post, "Mean field games master equations: from discrete to continuous state space," which delves into the study of the convergence of mean field games with finite state space to mean field games with a continuous state space. This paper explores various approaches to tackle this topic, including a space discretization of diffusive dynamics and the examination of convergence in the presence of common noise. If you're interested in learning more, you can access the full post at https://bit.ly/4b3Z9qI.

Who is playing video games in Australia, and why? TLDR: almost everyone and not only for fun. Some interesting highlights from yesterday's lecture: - 81% of Australians play video games - Average gamer age: 35 - Women play (very slightly) more often than men - For home entertainment options, games are beaten only by TV/movies (and are equal with social media) - 75% of gamers play socially to some degree - Most popular genre: puzzle games (close second: action/adventure) - Other than fun, reasons for playing: stress relief and other mental health boons, social connection, cognitive training, and of course: to crush your enemies & see them driven before you (OK the survey didn't word it like that, but challenge and accomplishment was frequently cited)

🎮 This Tuesday, we publish another piece by Zezhou Yang, a PhD student in South Asian Studies, at SOAS University of London. 🌏 In this post, Zezhou explores Far Cry 4’s portrayal of Kyrat: a superficial depiction echoing Nepal‘s civil war while questioning the balance between cultural authenticity and commercial appeal in gaming’s global market. 💡 Learn about the intersection between video games, decolonization, and alternative voices, and how they can reshape our understanding of history and culture. 🔗 Link: https://lnkd.in/ehfatdNA
