Here are just a few things I failed at this month: - To get all the correct reports to our new POS onboarding team, so we haven’t been able to sell new gift cards for a week. - To secure enough champagne donations for a charity event I’m involved in. - To get ahead on scheduling posts. - To get my daughters' school photos in frames and on the walls. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter named a day in late September as the official “Good Neighbor Day” to encourage Americans to build friendship among their neighbors and spread love and respect throughout their communities. This year, Good Neighbor Day falls on September 28th, and is the perfect opportunity to perform a few acts of kindness to show your appreciation to the people in your neighborhood. Not sure where to start? Read on for a few ideas on good deeds that you can perform in your community! - Offer to Help a Neighbor with Yard Work - Autumn is around the corner, and you know what that means: lots and lots of leaves! Do your neighbors a favor and offer to help them with raking. Or, if you see your neighbor struggling to keep up with mowing the lawn, weeding their gardens or taking out the trash — you can help them with that too! - Leave Gift Cards for Your Mail Carrier - Mail carriers are the unsung heroes of the service industry — making sure you get your mail no matter the weather. This Good Neighbor Day, show your appreciation to your mail carrier by leaving them a gift card to a local business. - Buy Coffee for the Person Behind You at a Local Coffee Shop - Start a “pay it forward” chain at your local coffee shop by asking your barista if you can pay for the person behind you. Walmart grants are one of the most common grants sought after by nonprofit organizations because the application is so simple. However, the new verification process is causing quite a bit of frustration for many of my clients and maybe for some of you. The additional steps to create an account and get verified are for the security and benefit of the organizations, so you can't be too mad about that. I know many who started the process and quit because they felt it was too time consuming or confusing. Start the process by understanding that it probably will not be completed in one sitting. The system goes through verification levels to ensure that your account is properly set up and verified to receive payments to the correct account. Now, isn't that worth the wait?
