The core to really effective marketing starts with understanding your audience. Everything about them, what drives them, what problems they have, what challenges they face and more. But that’s not enough, you have to be able to take all that insight and do something with it that actually makes a difference. I’ve presented this slide for 10 years now just about and it still holds water to this day. But it’s how I’ve always defined Product Marketing and the 3 main functions of it. Usually these functions are separate at other places, but not here.
