The big game is HERE! What are you more excited about? The game itself? Commercials? Halftime show with Usher? Or Taylor Swift sightings? I can’t believe the amount of distain toward Travis & Taylor’s relationship & the attention she gets during the game. They seem happy so how it anyone else’s business. If you’re a football fan, you should be celebrating her. She’s opening up your sport to a larger audience that may have never cared before. Little girls are not only interested in Taylor but learning the whole game. This new audience is bringing higher TV viewing audiences & revenue streams to the economy. Coming from a marketing standpoint, I would be doing backflips to increase my organic audiences at those rates. I can’t pick between Taylor’s boyfriend or Arizona native golden 49er, Purdy. FIRED UP FRIDAY — I cry when I watch sports commercials. You know the cheesy ones with emotional music and athletes crossing the finish line giving it their all? Those ones hit me right to my core and I start to cry. Sports elicit so much emotion in me whether I am playing or just watching others. There is something in sports so integral to being human. Striving. Competition. Camaraderie. Victory and elation. Defeat and devastation. On Monday, we get to witness two undefeated college football teams step onto the field and play a game that they love. What an incredible matchup and opportunity to honor excellence in athletics. I know some might say it’s a silly game. Some might say money has tainted the sport and media cycles makes it all less special. There’s truth in all of that. But at its core, sports are a human expression of passion and vitality. I for one am looking forward to watching the game. And I am definitely looking forward to crying while watching all of the 2024 Olympics commercials. You either gotta 1) Work for the Cowboys ✭ 2) Work for a news station/broadcast company & get a press pass/credential through them 🪪 or 3) Work for the National Football League (NFL) either for NFL Films or through their NFL LCC program 🏈 “𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙄𝙎 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙉𝙁𝙇 𝙇𝘾𝘾 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙂𝙍𝘼𝙈?” The NFL Live Content Correspondent Program is a program at the NFL that places creative and social media-minded #videographers and #photographers in every NFL market to capture content for NFL stakeholders as needed, 365 days a year 📆 You don’t even need a degree to become an LCC, just equivalent work experience. You do, however, have to own your own equipment and be able to capture photo & video (📱+ 📷), but it’s an incredible way to break into sports and meet a ton of really great & talented people along the way. My main goal though, no matter what the environment or time of day, is to make sure I have a balanced image. The NBA media deal negotiations are a fascinating insight into what the leagues are looking for in a media deal as the world continually gets more digital. Linear television and who can get the most people no longer appear to be the primary focus of these deals, especially the NBA. This article lays out why Comcast is such an important and interesting player in this battle for the final spot. Instead, the focus is now on collecting as much data on the consumer as possible. That is what streaming services provide. The NFL got tons of data from the TNF deal and will continue getting data from the wild card game on Peacock. This data is worth more than a normal person may think on the business level. Amazon and ESPN/Disney already appear to have deals in place for the next NBA media deal, so it is between WB Discovery/TNT and Comcast/NBC/Peacock. TNT is the traditional broadcaster who, while having the streaming service, does not have the financial power or the data-gathering of Comcast/NBC/Peacock. The latter, meanwhile, has a greater ability to collect data, has more money and is much more stable in terms of ownership. The results of this WB Discovery vs Comcast war will showcase where the future of sports broadcasting is heading. Keep your eyes out for what happens.

After living in the US in the last year, I got experience this phenomenon firsthand, not just on screen but in the electrifying atmosphere of the stadiums. Yet, interestingly, the traditional Super Bowl ad blitz might not capture the audience it intends to, with many viewers gathered in noisy bars or at home parties, more engaged with each other than the screen during breaks. 🔎 This observation leads me to a significant opportunity for brands: the days following the Super Bowl are ripe for advertising, as the buzz around the commercials grows. Moreover, with a vast majority on social media during the game, a well-crafted, humorous campaign targeting these platforms could offer far more value than a multimillion-dollar TV spot that might not even be seen. So, for those pondering a Super Bowl commercial, consider the digital space where your audience is active, engaged, and ready for a laugh. It’s not about the big spend but about connecting with the American spirit, especially on a night like this. SPORTS NETWORKS STILL WINLESS WHEN IT COMES TO PICKING WINNERS I might be considered the most knowledgeable guy in sports investing having done so over 50 years, and we've worked with many of the biggest names in the industry, from Jimmy "the Greek" Snyder to Billy Walters; and never saw a website write this about its premier prognosticator... "Bear Bets" are real wagers that Chris "The Bear" Fallica is actually making. If you want viewers to profit and the company to build its bottom line, since I predicted this guy's failure when I interviewed with Fox. He already lost his first pick on Saturday, December 2nd, and is awaiting the total of under 35 in the Iowa, Michigan game.  At least him and his cronies have gone to fudging on games by declaring: "I can see either team winning"; instead of making outright losing selections. Truly, I would do the job for 10% of his salary, and offer many more winners, and be much more knowledgeable, informative and entertaining and don't need to promote anything, and will give, give Fox Sports a 50% equity on a pair of reality shows we have in development. Oh, and as I offered, I will challenge him to a handicapping contest where he can win $1M; but if I win, I get his job, and would consider giving him $500,000 for second place in the two-man field. Again, in 50 years of watching and reviewing network television handicappers prognosticate, I've yet to hear anybody select teams using the information and strategies real pros use. My colleague, Peter Mohan, mentioned that he had an insight regarding sports commentators. With the upcoming Super Bowl Sunday, hundreds of commentators will be broadcasting their observations and opinions about how the game is being played. Peter realized he spends a lot of time observing himself in his own life, mentally commenting as to how he is showing up, how he is doing and what could or should be different. I suspect many of us spend a lot of time on play-by-play commentary on how we are doing, and how we look, and letting us know if we are performing as expected and demanded. “What could I have done better, differently, faster, more effectively?” When you think about it, you might realize you do this pretty much 24/7. You might even believe others are observing and commenting on your game, having you wonder ‘What are they seeing and saying about me?’. Without the play-by-play commentary, you are less self-conscious, more at ease and have more fun. You could just do your life without having to judge yourself or justify your actions.
