It fills my heart with warmth and joy to witness the leaders I support sharing the impacts of their work. This is the very essence of why we dedicate ourselves to this work. 💜 #LeadershipDevelopment #TeacherSupport #ExecutiveCoaching #ImplementationSupport
Over the last two years, my team and I have been supporting Carlsbad Municipal Schools in implementing Opportunity Culture – and it’s been a real career high. I’m so moved to see veteran educators and school leaders in this video speak to the impact on themselves, their students, and their school culture! My biggest takeaways watching this work grow: 1️⃣ When teachers have protected time to dig deeply into curriculum, and their student data, coupled with "access to an expert in the content" (thanks to Amanda Farrell for naming that!), students succeed dramatically. 2️⃣ Systems-level change takes real commitment from leaders at every level, and it's worth it. We're lucky to work with LaVern Shan's team, who exemplify candid, inclusive leadership and what it looks like to keep students first - and whom I've learned so much from! If you look closely enough, you may see me and my wonderful team (Anders & Cecilia) in the background during our last design sessions 👀 I also have to shout out Erica and Colin, who've been supporting school leaders to reach their goals throughout design and implementation!

President and Executive Director | Speaker | Advocate | Writer Caregiver Recognition in CCRCs, SNFs, AL/PCs, Homecare and Hospice improves Retention, Recruitment and Resilience
Excited to join our friends at the Texas Health Care Association and share Ceca’s critical workforce insights at their Summer Leadership Retreat in Houston June 17th. The great state of Texas knows it’s essential to care for our caregiver workforce—and there’s no better way to engage and inspire than to show them the impact of their work, recognize their contributions and share their stories. It’s what the Ceca Foundation team is all about. I’ll be providing a session on the vital role of caregiver recognition sharing how you can bring vibrancy to vanilla employee appreciation initiatives. • What does the Science of Recognition tell us about turning words of appreciation into meaningful gestures of thanks? • How can you create comprehensive programs that don’t break the bank and stand the test of time? • What impact do these programs on recruitment, engagement and retention metrics? I personally guarantee this won’t be your run of the mill session—and of course it’ll get you CEUs to keep you up to date ☺️. Why OD? In the last week alone I’ve co delievered a leadership day, designed another, had several coaching & mentoring conversations, seen our Flexible Working Campaign on digital screens, had onboarding catch ups with a new team member, promoted another, had a big event cancelled but used the time to reflect with the team & have a great discussion with a busy Chief, talked all things retention & engagement as we prepare for sharing staff survey results, advised on & finished some papers on improving inclusivity, flex opportunities & restorative culture, celebrated some great team achievements & firsts, held reflective practice space…and more. That’s why. Variety, challenge, connection, improvement. 🔥

I had a great time at our NeoWork leadership development retreat in San Andrés, Colombia. Shout out to Dulcisimo Torres Jr and Gel Rivamonte, MBA for traveling 36 hours from Manila and Lendl Punzalan for traveling 12 hours from LA to visit our Colombia team. Inspired by Hampton's offsite, we did a 3-step activity. Step 1: Our team wrote down the things going well (green stickie notes) at NeoWork. Step 2: We wrote down what wasn't going well (red stickie notes) and the areas they think we should focus on. Step 3: Each teammate put their items on a wall (photo in the comments section) and read them out loud. It was an easy way to visually crowdsource ideas and prioritize them into action items. We incorporated many of these goals into our OKRs for Q3.

Transforming Professional Development for You & Your Team | Leadership & Group Coach | Strategic Partner | Workshop Designer & Facilitator
Calling all leaders in learning and development! Anyone else like Parks & Rec? Well, I sure do - and so of course, Galentine's Day (Leslie Knope style) is on my mind. I think there are at least three lessons for us to learn from Galentine's Day. 1. Missing a sense of community? We're allowed to create it. (And yes, that includes creating special days that have meaning for us & our learning communities). 2. There's no one right way for a community, coaching group, or learning cohort to create norms or traditions. The magic comes in deciding who the group wants to be together, and what they want to do or share to embody that regularly. 3. FUN is worthy. JOY doesn't have to be defended. From a distance, some of the community norms and celebrations we create might seem quirky or superficial - but joy and jun have their purpose in bringing people together. Not everything has to be so serious all the time. I'd bet that most leadership development programs don't celebrate Galentine's Day. And that's ok. More importantly, what special days, celebrations or traditions does your learning community honor or enjoy? #strongplanning #plan #leadershipdevelopment #professionaldevelopment #hrleaders #ofa #facultydevelopment #aamc #healthcareleaders #programdevelopment #adultlearning #culture #community
