Laser cladding is a surface modification technology that involves melting and depositing metal powders, ceramic powders, or mixed powder materials onto a substrate surface under the action of a laser beam, forming a coating with excellent properties. Laser cladding is a deposition welding process in which a layer of powder is deposited on the substrate material, and the two materials are fused by metallurgical bonding through the action of a laser beam. The characteristic features of this process are: highly precise, automated deposition of a layer of material with a thickness varying between 0.1 millimeters and several centimeters Metallurgical bonding of the cladding material with the base material Low heat input into the substrate A wide selection of homologous and non-homologous powder materials The ability to process virtually any type of metal alloy By varying the process parameters and selecting different powder materials, a component’s surface can be either alloyed or cladded with a carbide or similar coating. Coating thickness gauge(EC-470) Internal probe Fe:Magnetic induction;NFe:Eddy currents Range: 0~2000 μm                              Accuracy: ±(3%+1 μm)  The coating thickness gauge can nondestructive measure the thickness of non-conductive coatings on metal surfaces and non-ferromagnetic metal coatings on ferromagnetic metals (e.g. iron, nickel, cobalt, etc.), including measuring the thickness of iron, stainless steel surface paint or galvanized layer, measuring the thickness of aluminum,copper surface paint or plastic film. EC-470 has a built-in integrated probe of magnetic induction and eddy current, with a measurement range of 0~2000μm and a measurement accuracy of ±(3%+1μm), and the resolution is up to 0.1μm. EC-470 has a streamlined display interface with an automatic rotating screen function, which can display the average, minimum and maximum values at the same time. When measuring, the users only needs to quickly fit the probe tip to the surface of the object to be measured. During the process of the probe shrinking to the inside of the instrument, it can automatically distinguish the properties of the substrate and measure the thickness of the coating (plating) layer.

Both tool types, like all taps of the "NEO" series, are made of HSSE-PM substrate. However, they differ in geometry and coating in order to achieve outstanding results in the respective field of application. NORIS SPANLOS NEO AL The NORIS SPANLOS NEO AL cold forming tap has been developed especially for the machining of wrought aluminium alloys. The geometry with an asymmetrical pressure point shape acts in the forming direction through a relatively steep stroke with very low torque. The stroke on the back is much flatter and thus has a supporting effect. This combination results in an enormous increase in tool life. A DLC (diamond like carbon) coating reliably protects against cold press welds, which are found frequently in these materials. The “craziest” drill for #pure #titanium comes from Mikron Tool😎! Titanium is a high-performance material and poses a chip removing machining challenge. Moreover, not all titanium is alike. Depending on whether it is #pure #titanium or #alloyed #titanium, the chip removing process behaviour differs. Mikron Tool has come up with different drill series that are #perfectly #tailored to the #various #titanium #grades allowing to machine them safely with higher cutting performance results and longer tool life. To demonstrate this the new #CrazyDrill #Cool #Titanium #PTC for #pure #titanium (Ti Gr.2 - Ti Gr.4) has been tested in terms of #tool #life against the best commercially available titanium drill on a medical bone plate. The new drill from Mikron Tool achieves its best cutting performance at high parameters. But for the present #tool #life #test, a lower cutting speed recommended for the competitor drill was used to obtain a real comparison at the same cutting data.
