Finally on my way to Denver for an Innovation Blitz after a two hour flight delay and it’s going to be a late night.
Not quite as many meetings as my last trip but 11 in person meetings over two days will keep me busy along with two other industry partners joining me on this trip.
Any recommendations for dinner on Wednesday in the Denver metro area?
Safe travels, Chris Fisher! I trust you have arrived safely?? My husband and I love Bon Ami on Alameda, but it might be kinda far if you're staying in downtown. It does NOT sound as though you will have time for a coffee, but check in if you have some downtime that needs to be filled LOL.

There are literally THOUSANDS of entities labelled Innovation Center, Center for Innovation, Innovation Corridor, Office of Innovation and [fill in blank].
Curious how many of you have an understandable, definable, repeatable process for #innovation, let alone a definition of the term.
If you do — and are proud of it! — post a link to what makes you effective in radically improving the status quo.
NOTE: Minus points if all you have are whitewalls and flatscreen LCDs and a big sign that says “Innovation R Us” or equivalent.
This post yielded fascinating (but very limited) data analytics from my LinkedIn #innovation network. If you are in the biz, I'd appreciate your input.
As of this moment, only one like and 4 comments (3 by me 😂 ). My post from the day before received 57 reactions and 17 comments.
This #InnovationRus sign was inspired by touring 4 “innovation centers” in the last couple of months:
— All have “innovation” on the signage and title of the leader
— Only 1 has a defined process and methodology
— The other 3 have the infrastructure (meeting rooms, whitewalls, tech, LCDs), but are more in the co-working category.
I am truly interested to learn and share what those of you in the innovation ecosystem feel and do.
Innovation is not a space.
Innovation is not research.
Innovation is not invention.
Innovation is not marketing.
Innovation is not a whitewall.
Innovation is a panel discussion.
Innovation is not networking events.
Innovation is not thinking outside the box.
Innovation is not another award ceremony.
Although ALLLLLL of these are essential to make connections, generate ideas, and accelerate the process.
My new “home town” of Houston has a whole innovation web page listing:
— an 4-mile long Innovation Corridor
— the 16-acre Ion Houston Innovation District
— Houston tech and innovation conversations at SXSW
— Greentown Labs for #climatetech innovation
— Houston Exponential to accelerate the development of Houston’s innovation economy
So.... I challenge you in the innovation business, especially the innovation education business:
— How do YOU practice innovation?
— Teach it?
— Inspire it?
— Facilitate it?
— Measure it?
Of course, no obligation to share or comment, but I hope these questions burn bright inside you!! (As you can tell, they are baking my own brain.)
INVITE your input here... because you are my innovation heroes and I have had the honor to hear you speak about the process or to watch you innovate in person!
