INSPIRING INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’s DAY EVERYONE!
On this year's International Women's Day, I'm shining a spotlight on some extraordinary women on LinkedIn who have earned my admiration. They did not merely recognize the potential of AI technology ahead of everyone else, but, as in the case of Karen Kilroy, they delved into this technology, confronted its shortcomings, and personally developed solutions. Smart AI artists will likely be grateful for her efforts, especially if they ever encounter intellectual property issues...!
Karen Kilroy is a technologist, entrepreneur, and an advocate for open source software and #blockchain tech. She has a rich background in developing innovative technology solutions. One of her notable contributions to the technology and art world is her creation of 'File Baby.' Oh, and Karen actually once met Klaus Nomi!
By leveraging blockchain, 'File Baby' ensures the authenticity and uniqueness of digital images and art pieces, enabling #AIartists to secure their works against duplication and unauthorized distribution. This is particularly significant in the digital art space, where replication and copyright infringement are common challenges.
Social media platforms, including LinkedIn, often strip out metadata from digital files (such as images and documents) when they're uploaded, to optimize website performance and user experience. This has the unintended consequence of removing important information that attributes the work to its creator and verifies its authenticity.
Karen's 'File Baby' project offers a solution to protect and preserve the credentials and metadata of digital content, even when the original metadata is stripped by platforms like LinkedIn. By creating a blockchain-based record of a file's credentials, File Baby ensures that the creator's rights and the content's provenance are maintained and easily verifiable, regardless of how many times the content is shared or uploaded across different platforms. Karen's tech significantly enhances the integrity and trustworthiness of digital content, benefiting creators and consumers alike.
The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), initiated by a group of tech and media companies including Adobe, Arm, BBC, Intel, Microsoft, and Truepic, came together with the shared goal of addressing the challenges posed by the spread of misinformation and the manipulation of digital content. The core objective of C2PA is to provide a standard for content provenance, allowing users to trace the origin and history of digital content. OpenAI's adoption of #C2PA standards for its content generation aligns with this goal, and platforms like Karen's File Baby will serve as the infrastructure needed to store, manage, and verify these credentials efficiently, ensuring a transparent ecosystem where AI-generated content can be easily identified and its history traced.
Whether it’s a friend, mentor, or even yourself - who do you celebrate this #IWD24?
what to do if you find a kitten outside?
it hasn’t happened to me before but I just want some advice in case it ever does happen, i’d want to be prepared and do the right thing ! <3
here are my questions:
* if I can’t see its mother around, what should I do?
* how can I tell between a spayed male and un-spayed female?
* at what point should I bring it home with me?
* is it cruel to leave it outside?
* if I need to take it home, what steps do I take next?
