Consistency over time is the biggest thing that will help you succeed with any sort of online content, but podcasting in particular. If you look at any channel you like on YouTube, just go back to their very first video and then their newest videos. You’ll likely see their video quality improve as they get better equipment and refine their skills. You can absolutely start with your cell phone. Get the content and message out, figure out if you like doing this, and get yourself going right away. That's step one. Step two would be using dedicated webcams.
