I said this one and now I am saying it twice. "Being a teacher is the second hardest job in the world. Number one is being a black parent raising a black child in this world!" Right is Right - Wrong is Wrong. These teachers need have salaries starting off at $70,000+. These superintendents shouldn't be grossing $350,000, while these teachers whom paying out of them under pockets only receiving under $30,000. Respect is mutual and earned; respect isn't asking. The Chicago Board of Education voted to remove School Resource Officers (#SROs) - Chicago Police - from city schools. This move was backed by the Chicago Teachers Union. How long before "buyer's remorse" sets in from this decision? #Schoolleaders only need to look to Denver and many other cities that pulled SROs from schools after the George Floyd murder. Many are struggling to return them back into schools as #schoolsecurity problems steadily increase and #teachers, #principals, #parents, and #students become increasingly frustrated. #Schoolsafety best practices need to be prioritized over political decisions.
