"Do not be ashamed of failure. Be grateful for the direction it is pointing." That's the start of a quote I heard on a resurfaced 2022 USC commencement speech by Rachel Scott (currently an ABC Senior Congressional Correspondent). Failure used to stick with me ... I'd think about it, think about what I could've done differently, etc. It was only in the last five years that it finally clicked for me. I also have to say that "failure" is in the eye of the beholder (not speaking in engineering terms) and once I changed my mindset, it was easier for me to shrug my shoulders and move on. The second half of the quote truly ties a bow on it: "Do not be terrified of rejection, but fear missing the blessing that is waiting for you in the wings because you’re so focused on looking backward." #chrystalshares #quote #failure

My first job in recruiting was 25 years ago and I even convinced my leader to let me start its first recruiting department. 25 years later, I had another first. Was honored to be invited to speak on a panel internationally at the Future Talent Summit in Stockholm. Earlier this year I mentioned that I had my very first live speaking engagement and that I would say “yes” more. This was another “yes.” It was fascinating hearing the discussion around AI and talent as well as having sidebar conversations with people like Lars Schmidt.
