Dear friends! Important information! The number of new auditors is decreasing as their responsibilities face increasingly complex requirements, and specialists who started their careers in the 1990s are are starting to retire from the workforce. Meanwhile, the workload for auditors has increased due to high inflation and new categories of audits. Finding a good specialist is difficult. When choosing an auditor, important criteria include their qualification, reliability, availability, and experience. One possibility is to consult the Auditing Activities Oversight Board’s annual quality control results. The results for 34 auditing companies in the 2022/2023 period show that only 5 received a “green” score, while 6 were “yellow”, 15 “orange” and 8 “red”. Strategic Financial Wizard | 7 Years in Accounts & Auditing | M.Sc Finance & Management, MBA Finance & Marketing | Driving Fiscal Excellence & Business Growth
Early in my career as an auditor, I was assigned to a routine audit for a mid-sized company. It was my first solo project, and I was eager to prove myself. Everything seemed straightforward until I came across some irregularities in the expense reports. They were small discrepancies, easily missed, but something didn't sit right with me. I decided to investigate further, even though it meant working late hours and digging through piles of documents. My persistence paid off. I discovered that an employee had been falsifying expense reports, siphoning off small amounts of money over a long period. The total amount was substantial, and the company's financial health was at risk. I reported my findings to my supervisor, who was impressed by my thoroughness and attention to detail. Together, we approached the company's management. There was initial shock and disbelief, but they were grateful for our diligence. The fraudulent activities were halted, and measures were put in place to prevent future occurrences. This experience taught me a powerful lesson: Integrity and professionalism are the cornerstones of our profession. As accountants and auditors, our role is not just to crunch numbers but to uphold the trust placed in us by our clients and stakeholders. Every detail matters, and our commitment to accuracy can have far-reaching impacts. By prioritizing integrity and meticulousness, we protect not only the financial well-being of our clients but also the credibility of our profession. This incident reinforced my dedication to these values, shaping the way I approach my work to this day. To my fellow professionals in accounting and auditing: Never underestimate the importance of your role. Your diligence and integrity are vital in ensuring transparency and trust in the financial world. Keep striving for excellence, and remember that your work truly makes a difference. #Accounting #Auditing #Integrity #Professionalism #AttentionToDetail #CareerGrowth

Internal Auditors have been officially recognized as the unsung heroes of the corporate world. Because nothing says 'thrilling adventure' like sifting through spreadsheets and uncovering the mysteries of expense reports. Remember folks, behind every successful audit, there's an internal auditor who spent countless hours making sure the numbers add up (and triple-checking just to be sure). So next time you see an auditor, give them a nod of respect. They're the real MVPs, turning chaos into compliance one audit at a time. #InternalAudit #CorporateHeroes #SarcasmForTheWin #SpreadsheetWarriors
