What’s needed is public speakers with the integrity and the raw logic of making it happen for yourself, like speaker, such as Martin Luther King. so wait a minute, just so clear the people young people gains in have been for a while within these 40 to 50 community neighborhood games are all saying that they want change they are expecting more exposure from the mayor and their communities to do what they’re to say we have therapy and programs that have not been around for such a long time that they are accessible at a public library which is on every corner practically yet those programs are being budgeted so they’re going to put all their effort into programs that are being funded because they’re not being utilized so basically a savings account for people who actually decide to want to change their lives. That’s what we’re gonna wait on, that makes no sense. Speaking of what they want changed in their community and Memphis. They are responsible for making the change in their community and Memphis. It starts with the person having the reasoning and the to make that effort possible not waiting until there is more money invested in programs because these people are feeling like they noticed it’s a cry out for attention, it’s too much. People are wanting other people to do things for them to make the changes that they state they want out of their lives. It takes that person and the problem is that parents of these young kids and older kids if they’re in affiliated activities because they say that they’re not satisfied with things to do that are fun in this town. That is the most ridiculous ridiculous reasoning to get into affiliated activities, so not only are they talking about putting in more investing income or tax money into programs? I have been around for a long time but they’re being under budgeted and under utilized because people don’t want to put that change to their lives to want to change themselves we can’t make someone change the way they are Guidance or basically all that can be equipped to make a life change. we have to start holding the accountability of parents and those that are committing these crimes as showing that this is not the answer to get what you think is the right way to get you’ve got to go out there and put yourself out there this they weren’t raised that way they don’t know any better that’s all to survive, because there is low income there is low ways to make Money that is the most ridiculous reasoning that I cannot believe that even be considered here. What about people during the depression about people faced with evictions and everything that has been through does not always resort to violence against the community in Memphis. It is your responsibility to make what you want happen happen with the support and the guidance that is all around you. We have got to stop blaming others for what happened in our past what we are not able to control on other people and using others as a punching bag for their problems.
Bio: Memphis Mayor, Former President/CEO of Downtown Memphis Commission, Former Director of Memphis Housing & Community Development
We cannot just talk about changing Memphis in the board rooms, we’ve got to also take it to the streets and talk to people. I promised a change for this city and that includes changing how we engage.
