Mahsa Amini's advocates, who passionately vocalize the slogans زن- زندگی- آزادی Women- Life - Freedom in Iran, are paradoxically involved in the oppression of Afghan immigrants within Iran. This contradiction between their proclaimed ideals and their actions underscores the urgent need to reassess our support for these Iranians. It is crucial to recognize that genuine advocacy for women's rights and freedom must extend to all individuals, regardless of their nationality or background. By turning a blind eye to the plight of Afghan immigrants in Iran, we risk perpetuating injustice and inequality. Instead of endorsing empty slogans, we should demand concrete actions and policies that reflect a commitment to the principles of equality and human rights for all. It is only through such meaningful change that we can truly advance the cause of women's rights and freedom in Iran and beyond.
