Safety moment : Daily Pre-Use Inspection Checklist Telehandler. Regardless of if you’re operating a new or used telehandler, this telehandler inspection checklist will keep your operators safe and moving forward. Check the following components or areas for damage: Electrical components, wiring and electrical cables. Hydraulic hoses, fittings, cylinders and manifolds. Fuel, hydraulic and coolant tanks. Axles and drive hubs. Boom wear pads. Tires and wheels. This is a Forward & Reverse Hold-In Control Circuit with Interlocking, running a Motor. The 'Hold-in' aspect, means that the motor will continue running after the Start button is pressed and released, and requires the Stop button to cut the motor off. The Jogging/Inching Control Circuit forms the alternative option used in most of the industrial machinery such as in Rolling machines, Bending machines and Overhead cranes. Getting to partake and experience different tasks with an electrical technician, has allowed me to identify fundamental electrical and mechanical concepts/principles that apply on majority of workshop equipment and towards Industrial Automation next. 3 key takeaways from the experience: - Asking good questions quickly gets you to enlightening and comprehensive answers. -'Ride the bull' with your technician/supervisor. Conducting routine plant inspections in order to monitor facility operation, performance and condition and by reporting faults or deviations on preventative maintenance schedules or check lists Making the necessary adjustments to facilities such as conveyor speeds, fan speeds, system pressures, tank levels etc. by means of PLC settings, controller adjustments and thereafter verify that the adjustments produced the required outcome by measuring the output performance/parameters. In order to ensure optimum availability of equipment and safe to operate. Conduct risk assessments before conducting unplanned maintenance to ensure the safety of yourself and fellow employees in the area in order to prevent any accidents / injuries. Maintaining all your allocated tools & equipment by regularly cleaning and constantly lubricating moving parts to ensure that you will be able to safely perform effective maintenance on a daily basis

Build up a support network. The automotive industry is difficult. It’s a thankless job, full of hard work, bloody knuckles, and late nights. I can’t describe in a way that most people would understand how difficult it is to be a true Automotive technician. Diagnostics, repairs, customer service. We are required to be engineers, electricians, hvac repair men. Body shop specialists. Customer service activists. Don’t do it alone. Build up a network of like-minded, goal oriented people to support you through the tough times. Those 18 hour days can get tough if you do them alone.
