𝐂𝐊 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: Weekend Marriage Retreat Sponsorship - Registration, Travel, Lodging My wife and I have been married for 9 years now, we have a 3 year old girl who is absolutely awesome. However as new parents I don’t think we accounted for how much time it takes to raise a child, and we easily put our relationship on the back burner. When the opportunity to attend FamilyLife Weekend To Remember arose, I was very excited and signed up immediately. In a very small way I like think of a marriage to be similar to a car; cars require maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep, as well as attention. Our marriages are the same way, and for me and my wife, a weekend away was an opportunity to do a check up on our marriage. Weekend To Remember was a biblical based marriage seminar which helped my wife and I recenter on the most important thing, our relationship with the Lord. Out of that relationship springs our ability to care for and connect with each other and our daughter. I find it funny how easily the most important things are actually the first things sacrificed when the busyness of life hits. To quote one of the speakers, “In the end, when the work is behind us and our children are grown, we will have only each other.” 𝐌𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 from the weekend I spent at the seminar and with my wife, was recasting our vision. Being reminded of the WHY, WHY did we get married in the first place, what was it that attracted me to her in the first place? Refixing my relationship with the Lord as priority, recasting my vision for us, and remembering to make time for us every week has put us back on the right foot, and rekindled our connection; hopefully it sets a good example for our little girl.
