It has been a great privilege to participate in the Mathys & Squire Graduate Open Day at their beautiful London Shard office. The day began with a warm welcome from Paul Cozens followed by workshops that challenged me to think about technology from the lens of intellectual property. A big thank you to Leo Wright and Tom Bosworth for their guidance during the excellent patent drafting workshop. I doubt I will ever look at a can opener in the same way again! After a competitive application process, I was delighted to be selected for this opportunity along with 13 other applicants at various stages in their academic career. Most of all, I enjoyed collaborating with this mix of postdocs, PhD, and undergraduate students to design and pitch an invention to a panel of 'investors' as part of a Dragon's Den activity. I am very grateful to all the Partners, Associates and Technical Assistants, as well as the HR team, who dedicated their time and enthusiasm to making this experience so insightful, interactive, and welcoming. #MathysAndSquire #patents #openday
