Protecting and restoring ecosystems is vital to the health of people and planet. As we celebrate World Environment Day, AstraZeneca we continue to fulfil our commitment towards patients through our programmes to restore landscapes and revive water sources. Together with our partners, we’re taking action, helping to secure a healthier, more sustainable future for everyone. Highlights include: ·      Driving deep decarbonisation across the organisation’s value chain ·      Decoupling business growth from emissions reduction ·      Driving sustainable science across the value chain, from green labs to patient care ·      Participating in innovative partnerships to accelerate delivery of health systems that are better for people, planet, and prosperity. Sustainability needs to start at the beginning. During R&D and design, packaging engineers are critically evaluating new sustainable materials with advantages that can be passed along to customers. Environmental impacts need to be evaluated from cradle to grave: raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, and end-of-life. Here at Centrient, we're committed to being a sustainable leader in the generics pharmaceuticals space. That's because thinking and acting sustainably is a key pillar of our purpose to improve lives through innovative and sustainable manufacturing of medicines. We channel this approach through our ESG Ambition 2021-2030. Our recently published Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report provides an update on the steps we're taking to realise this ambition and support the health and wellbeing of people and the environment.
