Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull delivered his keynote address at the #AustralianCleanEnergySummit2024. He emphasised the imperative of integrating more intermediate and long-duration energy storage technologies into the National Electricity Market as more renewable generation comes online, saying that "intermediate and long duration storage provides a vital public service. "It's been described as a public good and lowers the variable renewable energy costs through reduced curtailment." The 'Value streams for large-scale storage' panel, chaired by Dennis Freedman and featuring Jon Norman, Paul Curnow, Megan Ward and Ian Brooksbank, also explored emerging trends in value stacking and how these can be optimised for a timely energy transition. #ACES2024 #cleanenergy #renewableenergy

Isn't this the same Malcolm Turnbull who sold us on Snowy 2 for $2 billion in 4 years (to be completed 2021), and looks like costing at least 10 tumes that, yes, that's right $20 billion and counting, and completion date who knows when. Maybe mid 2030's. Yes, I am sure this is the same Malcolm Turnbull. Why is it that we listen to him? Oh, I see it is the Clean Energy Council who posted this. Talk about a collegiate of credibility 'gappers'.

The other sides of the Australian government should be aware of these things, and Australia should be involved in Fusion Energy before it costs Australia. 1. Page 137, Ch. Conclusion. Kinetic Energy Generation Systems, raising investment & interest before going commercial.

Malcolm Turnbull emphasised the imperative of integrating more intermediate and long-duration energy storage technologies. That is exactly what is happening under cover in Brisbane: there is new technology being developed that will require some batteries MW's very soon, however this renewable energy generation does not require extra batteries as it will generate 24/7 and is not reliant on nature. So, it is controllable renewable energy generation and storage. Dennis Freedman Paul Curnow Megan Ward Malcolm Turnbull

This was a great panel session. Could have easily gone 2 hours - great insights and discussion.

Ha! Ha! And he gave us Snowy 2.0, so we could have our first NPP by now for a similar cost and tining.
