Week 2! ✨ In August, our registered dietitians are sharing their favorite way to support Hormone Health. This week, Dietitian Samantha Renner shares why she recommends Ground Flax Seed & Cruciferous Vegetables to help with estrogen detoxification. Estrogen plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of our reproductive system, brain, and nervous system. Supporting our bodies in the detoxification of estrogen will aid in maintaining hormone balance and help avoid hormone related health issues. ⚖️ Cruciferous vegetables contain a chemical called sulforaphane which can help with the enhancement of breakdown and excretion of estrogen in our bodies. 🥬 Some examples of cruciferous vegetables are: 🥦 Broccoli 🥦 Cauliflower 🥦 Cabbage 🥦 Brussels sprouts 🥦 Dark leafy greens Ground Flax Seed is also a great addition to your diet! It enhances liver detoxification of estrogen and promotes estrogen excretion. 🌾 To help your body detox and excrete estrogen, try to get: ✔️ 2 to 3 servings of cruciferous vegetables weekly  ✔️ 1 to 2 tablespoons of Ground Flax seed in our diet daily 🍊 We recommend meeting with a registered dietitian at Clem&Thyme Nutrition to personalize your approach to hormone balance.
