In this video, Mike demos two strategies for implementing distance and drive time lookups between locations, beginning with the simplest implementation: a real-time, API lookup. Before setting up business solutions with Plugins that make data inaccessible, look at tools that are included with CRM/Commerce APIs. Mulesoft, Xano, Zapier, Make, Airtable connects User Journey. Paying for data migration when you can connect for Enterprise Grade "free" service is batteries included. Generate a Functional Integration Guide when Solutions Architecting your Enterprise Business Tools. Start with the APIs, set up tools that integrate. You will have client side "front end" and server side, code splitting. You will need Middleware. Especially if you are setting up AI development patterns. Shopify's APIs also include: Storefront, Customer, Hydrogen, Hydrogen React. APIs have radically changed in this past year and Functions has replaced scripts and Liquid templates. Salesforce Commerce Pivots between Site Genesis and SFRA requires deep understanding of API ecosystem. A PIM is Product Information that moves Product Data between APIs, including GA4 Data Layer. It is a mistake to use plugins because it is the "easy" solution. Using Plugins to solve Enterprise Tools cripples organizations. Right Tools means setting up Data so that it can be successful. If you are bridging Shopify to Salesforce, you'll need to understand full spectrum APIs not plugins. If you are going to be an AI company, you'll need middleware tools. Chaining APIs and understanding latest buzz terms, utilizes requirements that we've needed for years. Webhooks, events, functions, should replace the dialog re: the database your company has used for the past 20 years. Headless E Commerce is not an either or, ride or die choice, it should be used in tandem with core business planning. If you want AI incorporation you will need to pivot the data not just say you are an AI company, because you have set up a singular data feed. GA4 and Search is linked to Business Rules, APIs is front and center in an AI age.
