Nothing about dementia is simple, that's why it's important to find the right help. The first—and possibly most important—step to helping someone with dementia accept care is to choose the right caregiver. Because people with dementia often can't recognize their own need for assistance, it's important to hire a caregiver who is both trained in the disease and experienced working with patients. Fortunately, our caregivers of Home Care Assistance Edmonton meet these requirements, and more. Ready to get started? As your loved one ages, it's common to notice changes in cognitive function. Distinguishing between normal aging and signs of something more serious involves assessing six cognitive domains. Signs differ from person to person, but normal age-related changes are usually infrequent and minor, while warning signs are more noticeable and impactful. When you observe a change in functioning, consider these three factors: 1. Frequency of changes. 2. Previous baseline or “normal” state. 3. Impact on daily life. If you have concerns, consult a doctor early for a thorough assessment to rule out other causes. And if you need support, Home Care Assistance offers expertly trained caregivers to support your loved one's needs no matter where they're at. https://lnkd.in/gZvhRJB #seniorcare #caregiving #athomecare #inhomecare #edmontonalberta #seniorlivingcommunity #homecare #hcaEdmonton #hcacares

As we celebrate National Walking Month, let's explore the incredible benefits of incorporating walking into your daily routine. 1️⃣ Improves Mobility and Flexibility: Regular walking can help maintain joint function and prevent the stiffness associated with arthritis. 2️⃣ Reduces Risk of Falls: By improving strength, balance, and coordination, walking can help reduce the likelihood of falls among the elderly. 3️⃣ Cognitive Function: Regular physical activity like walking has been shown to lower the risk of cognitive decline and dementia. 4️⃣ Independence: Maintaining physical health through walking can help elderly individuals remain independent for longer. Remember, if you’re unable to walk, getting outside is still something we’ll encourage if you’re open to it. 🌸🌈For seniors, the fear of losing independence can evoke emotions of frustration, sadness, and even resistance to accepting help. They may worry about becoming a burden to their loved ones, losing their ability to engage in activities they enjoy, or feeling like they have lost a sense of purpose in life. At Dignity Home Care, our approach focuses on empowering seniors to make choices, participate in their care plan, and maintain control over their daily lives to the greatest extent possible. We strive to create a supportive and respectful environment where seniors feel valued, respected, and empowered to live with dignity and autonomy. ✨ Feel free to connect with us to learn more about our services and how we can make a difference in your life or the life of someone you love. 💖 🌐 www.dignityhomecare.me 📧 [email protected] #DignityHomeCare #ALSCare #homecare #seniorcare #caregiving #eldercare #agingparents #caregivers #dementia #caregiversupport #HomeHealth #mentalhealth #caregivingtips #familycaregiving #seniorsupport #Alzheimers #seniorliving #inhomecare #ALS #ALSawareness #ALSadvocates #ourALScommunity #Sonoma #SonomaValley
