For all the positives that GenAI will bring, how can we protect ourselves and our organizations from some of the negatives: sophisticated identity theft, hacking and fake news? In information security the CIA triad may find it’s fair share of challenges, with the expeditious rise of AI bringing certain security issues. Fortunately, we have a widely unknown model called Parkerian Hexad which takes the CIA triad and adds on to it. Defined by Donn B. Parker, this model pairs each CIA segment to 3 other components. Confidentiality is paired with possession, integrity is paired with authenticity and availability is paired with utility. The whole purpose of adding more segments was to strengthen security over data assets and also to make it more personal and hands on for people.
