The impact of 9.1% inflation on homelessness is undeniable. In high-density areas like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, homeless populations are growing, and seeking shelter outside retail stores is a common sight. But this isn't a sustainable solution. We're grateful to that our own Neal Vanskiver had the chance to delve into this issue in his new article featured on Retail TouchPoints. Large retailers are facing a challenge when unhoused individuals set up camps outside their businesses. It can deter potential customers and create uncomfortable situations. We are thrilled to announce the release of our 2022-2023 Annual Impact Report. The report highlights some of the amazing work YOU have helped us achieve over the last year – includingour key impact numbers, stories from our graduates, information about our barista training programme, updates on our Driving for Change initiative and some of our biggest achievements! Between July 2022 – June 2023 we have supported 981people through our barista training programme and Driving for Change initiative. Sadly, homelessness is not going away. With a 50% rise in homelessness over the last 12-months, our work is more important than ever. We will continue to do our best to support people experiencing homelessness to make long lasting changes in their lives. After spending 7+ years in the employee benefits and perks industry, I ventured out in search of something new. But as I explored and tried to conquer new industries, I realized that what I had been doing was already the avocado toast of my life—pretty great and hard to improve on. Now that I'm back to my favorite avocado toast, I've decided to start a weekly series, #WednesdayintheWorkPlace, to provide value and content for those looking to boost engagement, drive culture, and enhance morale. And what better way to kick off the series than with everyone's favorite, Taylor Swift? You might wonder what Taylor has to do with company culture. Well, several things: ✅ Bonding over a small group going to an Eras Tour show ✅ A Slack channel dedicated to Taylor's favorites ✅ The office speaker blasting her 40+ songs from her new album But what's less known is how Taylor uses her tour to fight food insecurity, a critical topic not discussed enough. In every city she visits, she donates to the local food bank. In Liverpool alone, she provided enough funds to feed people for a year. When thinking about engagement and culture in the office or remotely, fun activities like virtual escape rooms or office ping pong tournaments are great, but what truly makes an impact are programs that drive collaboration towards a mission of giving back. This is me yesterday in #LOSANGELES #CALIFORNIA near #HOLLYWOOD at, " #THEBIN ," which partners with #SELAH & #PROJECTROPA that you have seen me helping via my #LAURAHGUILLENFOUNDATION . We gave the free coffee I am holding, plus gave free food clothing, hygiene products, shoes, & more. The Bin is a place that gives everyone free storage, which I want to see all counties do always. Once a homeless individual receives free clothes & more, it is difficult to carry all of the items around (especially if a different outfit is given for each day of the week, a blanket, a sleeping bag, & a pillow which are basic essentials that are among the list of what is anyone's basic human right to own & keep). So, the Bin helps the homeless keep their items. 42nd #USAPRESIDENTBILLCLINTON (whom I'm so close with that he invited me to his birthday party in person) along with Billy's cousins #KIETHCLINTON , #KARENACLINTON & their kids #ABBIGAILCLINTON & her brothers agree with me that it is a basic human right to be able to keep one's belongings. That is good (& an irrevocably law which is also good). Because so many people are not good in wanting to help the homeless & disadvantaged, many don't want to obey this basic human right to have free storage available, so we found that if the storage bins are county trash bins, then the mean spirited people who want to prevent help with storage will not oppose as much if the storage is in only a trashcan like the one in the photo with me on my right. That is still an unlawful slavery mentality that wants to demean & belittle & embarrass others by making it look like they are not of equal human value to be able to have belongings kept in a manner that does not look like their things should just be thrown in a garbage bin, as if to say not all individuals & their belongings are worth anything but being thrown in the trash. However, we had to do it this way or we would not have been able to do it at all. Eventually, the free storage must be everywhere in the #USA & must be in a way that is nice & uplifts those utilizing the storage by making it look pretty & controlling climate & temperature. Here I was offering free #BOTOX to everyone & wore the #BARBIE shirt to remind everyone that women can be #MEDICALDOCTORS , too, since Barbie can. I actually helped create the specific type of BOTOX that I offered to administer for free to everyone here. It is an irrevocable law by my fellow #TOPLEVELCIA that even only 1 idea to improve a product is worth $1 million always (& they specified that meant with the ability to buy a mega mansion, #TOPCARS , houses, a railroad company, & live a #TOPRICHANDFAMOUS #TOPCELEBRITY #TOPSUPERMODEL lifestyle with #TOPSECURITY the rest of one's life & for one's kids & parents always because when the law was made, anyone could have all of that for only $1 million). #TOPFAMOUS #TOPCELEBRITIES #TOPSUPERMODELS

Customers will see a car being used as a home, a sofa being slept on and a tent. The installations aim to reveal the real-life living conditions facing thousands of Australians forced to seek shelter in places that should never have to be called home. CEO of IKEA Australia states that “IKEA believes we have a responsibility to help address this critical national issue.” Exposing the uncomfortable truths is crucial in raising awareness about an issue that affects countless Australians daily. It is fantastic to see IKEA taking a bold stand and shining a light on an issue that is too often swept under the rug.
