Crypto platform in ex-Soviet republic needs lessons on keeping up appearances in Potemkin villages (https://lnkd.in/g-SCY7n7)? 🤔 Protos reports: "Bitfinex Securities launched in September 2021 in the Astana International Financial Centre in Kazakhstan to provide a venue for capital raises and secondary sales of registered securities. Since that time, Bitfinex has continued to invest in this entity. In September 2022, it announced that it had “added a dedicated headcount to the team…designed internal audit procedures, and developed a pipeline of tokenised securities.” Bitfinex Securities has also continued to seek out other licenses, noting on its website that it is also regulated in El Salvador, with the Bitfinex Securities El Salvador S.A. de C.V. entity being the first to receive a “Digital Asset Service Provider” license in El Salvador." So what has this flurry of activity led to? "However, despite all this progress and a “pipeline of tokenised securities,” this platform has been slow to see meaningful adoption. Currently, there are only three securities listed on the “Bitfinex Securities Official List,” and these are: EXO: the security token associated with Exordium Limited, a video game company led by former Blockstream executive Samson Mow, working to develop a game called Infinite Fleet. BMN: The Blockstream Mining Note, a security meant to represent the bitcoin earned by deploying hashrate. ALT2611: A tokenized bond issued by Mikro Kapital made up of “risks connected to debt and equity of micro-financing companies, small financial institutions, leasing companies, banks or credit cooperatives.” However, none of these assets have seen significant trading volume on this platform." Or perhaps we are being unfair and too demanding with "significant"? Perhaps we should clarify what we mean by significant? "The EXO token seems to no longer be available for trading on Bitfinex Securities. Protos attempted to reach out to Exordium through the website linked on Bitfinex Securities, but that website’s contact form is broken. Protos sent over questions through the contact form on the Infinite Fleet website. The BMN token has a volume of $5,440, with the last trade occurring on November 13th 2023. The ALT2612 token lists a volume of $0 and has no recorded trades. There do not seem to be any other assets listed on Bitfinex Securities, and it appears that the platform has not seen a single trade in the last two months." 😱 I suppose at least they're honest and above faking transaction volumes, which crypto exchanges have been known to do? Uniswaps latest move is interesting to say the least The otherday Uniswap Labs announced that UniswapX will return all surplus generated from MEV capture back to users in the form of price improvements on swaps. Whilst this is definitely a good thing and creates a huge competitive edge over most of the market, this is also the second instance in recent times where $UNI stakers are not any additional benefits to holding the tokens. Previously, Uniswap Labs announced their 0.15% fee on swaps used through the Uniswap Web Interface. The proceeds of the protocol fees would go towards R&D. Many were not happy, as none of the fees were being distributed to stakers Was the hate unwarranted? probably, considering all the work Uniswap Labs have done, creating a small stream of revenue for themselves is fair right? Now Uniswap have improved the protocol again, and left the DAO out the mix. Could they have send a % back to governance voters? Sure, it would incentivize holders to stick it out long term more trades = more mev capture = built-in cashback (basically your picking up loose change people drop when making swaps) Uniswap have had their turn with the SEC already, and could potentially be waiting on more regulatory clarity before adding benefits outside of governance, is it reasonable to assume another protocol with additional benefits could take significant market share below? It's an interesting situation, will sheer belief be enough to keep governance voters in? or will the opportunity cost of locked tokens bear too heavy when a new shiny vendor comes along with all the extra benefits

Boosting Investors Trust Moreover, by teaming up with Moore Hong Kong (MooreHK), the popular stablecoin TrueUSD is planning to step up its transparency approach. The goal of this cooperation, which is an important part of TUSD’s plan to expand globally, is to begin providing daily attestations in January 2024. Also, what this means is that MooreHK’s expertise will be important in establishing TUSD as a reliable stablecoin on a worldwide scale. At the same time, a TUSD official stresses the significance of stablecoin reserve attestations. The representative underscores the cooperation with MooreHK and The Network Firm, portraying them as important associates who will provide strong support for TUSD’s future efforts to increase its market presence, emphasizing the critical role. Furthermore, Michelle Chu, MooreHK’s Senior Assurance Director, adds her enthusiastic voice by restating the organization’s determination to use cutting-edge attestation tools. In an effort to increase trust in TUSD, these tools will make it easier to see how the currency is being managed and will offer frequent attestation reports to show that reserves are being constantly monitored.
