Exciting news from the Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment (A4) and Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC)! This merger promises to foster even greater collaboration and innovation as we work towards a sustainable future. 🚀 I'm thrilled to be attending SETAC North America Fort Worth, Texas, for the first events as an IG. 🎉 I’m especially excited to co-chair our special session alongside my fantastic colleagues Lauren Heine and Margaret Whittaker 🤝 It’s an honor to be part of this significant moment, and I’m looking forward to the insightful discussions and new connections that will undoubtedly emerge. 💡 See you in Fort Worth? ✈️ Drop me a line if you’re attending! #SETAC #alternativesassessment #SETACFortWorth
The Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment (A4) is excited to announce its forthcoming integration into the global professional organization, the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Beginning Tuesday, 3 September 2024, A4 will become a SETAC Interest Group, with a slight change to our name – the Advancement and Application of Alternatives Assessment Interest Group (SETAC A4 IG). SETAC Interest Groups provide a vital forum for professionals to collaborate and to advance scientific topics of interest to the SETAC society. The SETAC A4 IG plans to continue to strengthen alternatives assessment (AA) methods and practice, including its use in policy, and to engage industry, government and academic professionals interested in using or performing AA to advance the identification and adoption of safer alternatives. Please consider attending the SETAC North America 45th Annual Meeting from 20–24 October 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. The SETAC A4 IG will be hosting a special scientific session on October 24 and is planning a social event where you can help shape the work of the IG and meet new colleagues. #SETAC #AlternativesAssessment #SETACFortWorth

Are you interested in Safer chemistry in beauty and personal care? Be sure to join us on June 6th for an exciting webinar! We have a great lineup of talks and discussion with Libby Sommer Martin Mulvihill Christina Ross Don Frey
Register for A4's next webinar "Safer Chemistry in Beauty & Personal Care: Needs and Opportunities" taking place on June 6 at 1:00 PM ET! Every day, the average person uses multiple personal care and beauty products, each containing dozens of ingredients. These products are a significant source of exposure to chemical substances, some of which are associated with an array of health effects. Since at least 2000, consumer demand has helped the “clean beauty” market steadily grow. Product formulators and brands have benefited from the use of hazard assessment tools to vet the relative safety of potential ingredients as well as upcoming & coming alternatives. Yet challenges remain. Last year, VC firm Safer Made issued its report, The Need for Safer Chemistry in Beauty: Opportunities for Innovation, which outlines 16 product and ingredient classes, such as preservatives, sunscreen agents and packaging materials, where safer alternatives are needed. Join this A4 webinar to learn more about the report’s findings, hear reactions from leaders in the industry, and ask questions about opportunities for furthering safer chemistry innovation in the personal care and beauty product sector. Facilitators: Libby Sommer and Colleen McLoughlin, Ph.D.,DABT, E.R.T. Speaker: Martin Mulvihill Panelists: Christina Ross and Don Frey Report link: https://lnkd.in/gbKRiJfF Don't miss out, register today! https://lnkd.in/eRVkgfUg
