Yesterday was an exciting day for students participating in the National Rural Electric Youth Tour. They started their trip in #Denver, where they toured the Colorado State Capitol and heard from legislative leaders. Then, students ended the day with a visit to United Power, Inc., where they viewed a high-voltage safety presentation and learned more about electric #cooperatives. Next stop, Washington, D.C.! Stay tuned to CREA's social media channels for more Youth Tour updates.

Texas consumer advocates are calling on policy makers and regulators to do more - to make sure we're using every electron to protect the grid, and paying fairly for local solutions. Homeowners are willing and ready to reduce electrical use at peak times, or even share their energy generated by home solar and stored in home batteries - - but they must be fairly compensated. Looking forward to finding more ways to put these distributed resources to work for the Texas grid. We can, and should do more. "When you and I answer the call to conserve energy, we don't get paid for that. We turn off our thermostats and we suffer in our homes." - Consumer groups Earthjustice, Sierra Club and Public Citizen and others held a joint news conference to call for policy reform. https://lnkd.in/gaSdqY5W

If you have responsibility for something, you have authority over it. And the more authority you have over something the more responsibility you have for it. Responsibility is in direct proportion to power. Power is in direct proportion to freedom. Take more responsibilities.

Awesome to see this #WMATA bus wrap, thanks to American Public Transportation Association, showing off another important benefit of #publictransit: job creation ... right here in the US! Public transportation does more than take us from place to place. It boosts our economy by generating thousands of good-paying jobs and connecting businesses to employees. It's time to think differently about public transit and recognize its role as a catalyst for economic growth. Investing in transit is investing in the economy, climate, and people. #publictransitimpact
This isn’t a bus. It’s an economic impact generator. It supports hundreds of thousands of American jobs in every corner of the country. From tires made in Kansas to HVAC systems made in Arizona, public transportation fuels our economy. #PublicTransitImpact
