Check out this #LineworkerAppreciationDay video message from from Gil C. Quiniones , our president and CEO, and David Perez, our EVP and COO, as they reflect on the critical and often hazardous work our lineworkers. 👇
Today, July 10, is National Lineworker Appreciation Day – a time to recognize the dedicated employees responsible for powering all aspects of our daily lives. We celebrate our ComEd lineworkers, who go above and beyond to support the communities we serve. In addition to safely installing, maintaining, and repairing components of the electrical grid, our overhead and underground lineworkers serve as emergency first responders answering the call whenever a power need arises. Check out this video that Gil C. Quiniones and I put out there recognizing them.
Stay safe out there ladies and gentlemen. No short cuts please !
Big THANK YOU!

3wOverhead is one of the hardest jobs out there. Not only are you a lineman working out of the bucket (or worse yet, in your hooks in a backyard line) on live primary voltage, but you also need to be an innovative carpenter at the same time. Brings back fond memories of my Chicago North Overhead days circa 1995-99. Great to see this aspect of the utility industry get the recognition for their commitment to their craft.
