One image resonated with me today… I always love these visuals. My favorites: Image 4 (breaking the first step into smaller steps) - Make sure you are keeping up steady progress towards your goal. The first step is often the hardest but this can apply to any time you feel the next step is particularly difficult. Break it down into stupid simple steps. Like smaller than small. If you make it small enough, it is almost silly to not get it done! Then you can build momentum and do more things. Image 7 (path to success you have to make it step by step) - Sometimes it seems like the path should be easy or already laid out for us. The reality is, we are trailblazing our own paths. There weren’t always rails or roads to travel down. You have to do the hard work to make the trail. Occasionally, you might be able to travel down the path that someone else has left behind, but eventually you will need to veer off and find your own way. This helps us to grow and be our own unique selves and inspires other people to blaze their own paths as well. And finally: Image 6 (doing all the things vs focusing on one thing) This visual spoke to me in several ways. One of my favorite ways to swim (well… float really) is the backfloat. Ears in the water, sounds muffled and just bobbibg in the water is something I can do for an hour easy. But there’s a form to it— you have to keep your core tight, your back straight, and jeep your lungs full of air. I’ve seen my kids try to back float and it is so easy to lose the focus and let your body sink, or worse, your face goes under the water. I’m also a people pleaser. Always trying to do all the things. In many ways I try to anticipate issues and stop them from becoming an issue in the first place. It can be exhausting. This visual spoke to me because often it is better to focus on the next good thing instead of trying to do all the things, getting overwhelmed. Focusing on the one thing at a time allows you to float instead of drowning in the overwhelm. What visual speaks to you?
