Today is "World Refugee Day". On this day, we celebrate the strength, courage, and perseverance of millions of refugees. CKP is very diverse, with students coming in from all walks of life, including refugees. We'd like you to meet Ted and get a glimpse into his story. We're so proud of how far he has come, and we're looking forward to his successful apprenticeship completion with Nancy's Revival. We love that you're a part of the CKP family, Ted! **** Contributions make dreams like Ted’s possible. Our culinary training program is free to each and every student. We provide them with their uniforms as well as supports such as a monthly bus pass to get to our kitchen for trainings. We also understand that learning new skills can take a lot of time and not everyone is afforded the luxury of taking time off to learn those skills to better their lives, so we PAY THEM while they train. We want to help support them in every way we can to help them to better their lives and their communities. “We use food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities.” If you’d like to join us in our mission and help make a huge impact in our community, visit our website to learn about how you can support as an employer partner, catering with us, attending Guest Chef dinners, volunteering, making an in-kind donation, making a monetary donation, etc. Visit us as CKPgh.org. #CKPgh #communitykitchenpgh #WorldRefugeeDay #CookingUpOpportunity #pghfood #culinarytraining #workforcedevelopment
