We’re over the moon to have been shortlisted for Communique’s in-house team of the year award alongside Compass Pathways. Looking forward to the award ceremony next week!
Every 40 seconds, someone dies from suicide; tens of millions more live with mental health conditions for which there is no good standard of care.
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is one of these conditions.
A lesser-known subset of major depressive disorder, TRD is believed to affect more than 100 million people around the world*.
People living with TRD have tried at least two different treatments within a depressive episode without success, with the chance of response decreasing with every subsequent treatment. More needs to be done to change this.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we hear real stories from people living with TRD.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in the United States, started by Bebe Moore Campbell in 2008 to help destigmatise mental health in racially and ethnically minoritised communities. It aims to bring awareness to the unique challenges that these communities face when it comes to accessing mental health care. To learn more, visit: https://lnkd.in/ePhvDgVj
Joanna Kuc joined Compass as an intern almost five years ago. She’s now a Data Scientist and is also completing a PhD in Experimental Psychology at UCL. Congratulations on your PhD poster presentation at the ASCC Conference in Tokyo last week, Joanna!
PhD Candidate in Experimental Psychology @ UCL | Data Scientist @ COMPASS Pathways
It was a really great experience to present a poster from my PhD work at ASSC27 in Tokyo. The topic was “Increased Self-Related Cognitive Vocabulary After a Single Dose of 5-MeO-DMT” and I’m very happy for a chance to discuss it from the interdisciplinary perspective that lies at the heart of ASSC.
We’re delighted to welcome Lori Englebert to Compass Pathways today as our new Chief Commercial Officer.

Some of the most difficult-to-treat mental health conditions, including treatment-resistant depression (TRD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and eating disorders, have very few treatment options.
However, steps are being taken to a bring about a paradigm shift that could help to change the future of mental health for the millions of people who urgently need new options.
Our CEO, Kabir Nath, explores this need for new treatments in the mental health space in the Spring edition of Pharmafile. Read more below.
It’s great to see that the Centre for Mental Health Research and Innovation, a pioneering collaboration between Compass, King's College London, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, has won the Refurbishment Project of the Year at this year’s Design in Mental Health Awards.
Congratulations to Arcadis and thank you for all of your work in making this happen.
Everyone deserves to live proudly as themselves, free of fear and stigma and the challenges they can bring. That’s why this year, to recognise Pride, our Compass team is fundraising to support the Trevor Project, an organisation whose mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.
