Every 40 seconds, someone dies from suicide; tens of millions more live with mental health conditions for which there is no good standard of care.   Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) is one of these conditions.  A lesser-known subset of major depressive disorder, TRD is believed to affect more than 100 million people around the world*. People living with TRD have tried at least two different treatments within a depressive episode without success, with the chance of response decreasing with every subsequent treatment. More needs to be done to change this. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we hear real stories from people living with TRD. *Reference: McIntyre RS, et al.
