What a great two days at last week’s Frontline Mental Health Conference #FMHC2024. Thank you to the event organisers and all the attendees for such an informative and important conference. IPAR’s Georgina Lamb and Courtney Stace enjoyed many insightful conversations with professionals from across the industry over the two days of the conference. Just a few of the many takeaways included: - Growing recognition of the impact of moral injury and moral trauma, and the difficulties associated with the gap in current diagnostic criteria - Research supports the impact of both organisational and operational stress as contributing factors to psychological distress in frontline workers - The importance of compassion for self and for the people we lead - Relationships, connection, and support are the foundations that can make or break injury development - Australia is leading the way in developing an evidence base for injury prevention and recovery in frontline workers, supported by collaboration across industry and academia. However, there is more work to be done at a research, system, and organisational level – and there is no shortage of passionate people advocating for it all Please reach out to Georgina Lamb and Courtney Stace to discuss their presentations and insights. As we mark World Mental Health Day on 10th October, we will reflect on this year's theme, "Mental health is a universal human right." It's a reminder that everyone deserves access to the highest standard of mental healthcare. At Cigna Healthcare International Health, we've made mental health a priority both for our customers, clients, partners, and our people. However, it's not just about awareness; it's about action. Across our business we are focused on accessibility, ensuring everyone can access reliable, straight-forward care. Let's shift from understanding the importance of mental health to actively discussing how we can provide it to empower those around us, as well as ourselves. #WorldMentalHealthDay
