Wish we could because there are a few promising-looking resumes but a resume simply doesn't tell the story we need to understand whether an applicant can be shortlisted. PPS: Only 4 so far responded - I'll be looking out for their portfolio's because I appreciate the time these applicants have taken to invest in their chance of landing an interview. It's the little things!

HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS NEW PEIKKO VIDEO? Promotional corporate videos are used when trying to tell something about the company to an audience, and the company may be totally new for the audience. I am sorry to say, corporate videos are normally very boring and they seldom impress me. First of all, they are many times way too long. Secondly, they seldom even tell what the company is doing, they focus e.g. some hero climbing on the mountain or some other totally irrelevant theme. At worst, the company’s ugly-looking founder or CEO is smiling there, just for them to pay the invoice of the video-maker 😀 What is the worst corporate video you have ever seen? In a previous post, I mentioned that Tysha and I were launching Product Hub—an after-hours professional networking event for product and tech enthusiasts... Well recently we came across our first hurdle 😥 . We initially only anticipated 30 attendees but we quickly reached our limit of 90 RSVPs and had 30+ on the waiting list... an unexpected surprise! However, this success also created a problem... Our original venue could no longer accommodate us, so we had to find a new venue that could handle our larger group. We considered changing the date, finding a nearby overflow venue, and it was even suggested to me that I cancel the event (but obviously this was not an option!!)... Luckily, through persistence and a refusal to give up from myself and Tysha, we ended up calling over 30+ venues around NYC and found not only one but a few great venue options happy to host us! We chose Juke Bar, who generously offered not just two private rooms but also spillover space in their main area. Because of this, we were able to open the waiting list and we're at 145+ RSVPs! I’m VERY grateful to the venue, Tysha for working together to quickly solve this problem, and the friends I reached out to for advice and moral support. Event location is now updated to reflect our new location! https://lnkd.in/daMS6iQC This experience shows that persistence is KEY to solving any problem. Even if it takes a while or more effort than you initially expected, you will eventually find a solution and maybe even in a place better than you expected 😃

We are NOT hiring right now, but how would you react to seeing this ad? These are screenshots from our internal team chat a year ago, when a teammate informed us he would be taking a day off to play the exclusive beta for Elden Ring, arguably one of the most important gaming events of the decade. Transcript of the messages we got in the wee hours of a Friday, before the sun even thought of rising that day... "hey, maybe you didn't know I received a key for Elden Ring's beta, but that's what happened 😄 the beta will be playable on 5 sessions spread over tomorrow, saturday and sunday/monday" "the thing is the first session, a 3-hour slot between 12:00 and 15:00 tomorrow friday" "soooo I will start my friday now, so I am free at 12 ready to wreck that beta" "just a heads-up" This wasn't so special for us. We have a constantly improving async organization, so we can adapt to changes like these quite easily, thus being able to prioritize our team wellbeing. Immediately, everyone on the team thought about what would happen in a similar situation at their previous jobs... We created this image internally as a joke, but wouldn't you be interested in joining a team where you are free to organize your working time as you see fit? And by 'free' I mean truly free, not the on-paper-says-yes-but-my-boss-says-no kind of free.
