As part of a committee representing the Alexandria Electricity Distribution Company, Consultant, Owner, and Supplier, I recently visited the Hitachi Energy Transformers in 10th Ramadan City industrial zone, on June 24 to attend the inspection and routine testing transformers for Veranda Smouha compound.
The detailed test certificate for a transformer demonstrates Hitachi's commitment to quality:
1. Turns Ratio Measurements: The transformer's voltage ratios were precisely measured across all taps, with deviations within the tight 0.5% tolerance.
2. Winding Resistance Measurements: Low resistance values were recorded for the windings, indicating high-quality construction.
3. No-Load Losses: Testing showed the transformer's no-load losses ensuring efficient operation.
4. Load Losses Measurement: Full-load loss testing revealed low impedance values, maximizing energy efficiency.
5. Applied Over-Voltage Withstand Test: The transformer withstood 28kV on the high-voltage winding and 3kV on the low-voltage winding, demonstrating robust insulation.
6. Induced Over-Voltage Withstand Test: The transformer passed the 800V, 100Hz induced over-voltage test on the low-voltage side.
The committee found that the transformers are sound and conform to the standard IEC 60076 specifications as well as the customer's requirements, as evidenced by the attached test certificates provided to all committee members.
Attending Hitachi's meticulous testing process for transformers gives the committee full confidence that this compound will be powered reliably, safely, and efficiently. I'm grateful for the Hitachi team's technical expertise and commitment to quality.
