🚚 ”Safe on the road” - a MARVICON campaign! Here are 4 rules that everybody should be aware of when crossing the street or riding a bicycle: 🔹 Rule 1: Keep your distance & never cross the street directly in front or behind a truck; the driver might not see you. Maintain distance and establish eye contact when crossing. 🔹 Rule 2: Stop before the stop line! Trucks need more space to stop than cars. Always stop before the stop line, giving large vehicles ample room to maneuver. 🔹 Rule 3: If a truck is turning right, stay to the right and behind it where the driver can see you. Better yet, wait and let the truck pass before continuing your journey. 🔹 Rule 4: Make sure you see the driver! If you can see the driver and make eye contact, then the driver will see you as well. These rules apply to all large vehicles, not just trucks. Visibility is key when it comes to this so always make sure you are visible. 👉 Follow these guidelines for your safety. Share this post to spread the word about road safety!

When you're behind the wheel - put your phone down. It's that simple. Distracted driving causes everything from traffic delays (the distracted driver didn't realize that traffic has started moving again, causing a yo-yo effect) or they cause traffic accidents - both minor and major. As much as I love my phone - I put it down while driving. For the others - we're working on technologies that will help making driving safer. #wearemagna #distracteddriving
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month in the US, shedding light on the alarming statistics of this dangerous behavior. In one state alone, distracted driving contributes to countless accidents and fatalities. At Magna, we're dedicated to reducing these numbers with our Driver Monitoring System. Let's work together to make our roads safer. Learn more about Magna's technology: https://bit.ly/3xunl6n #DistractedDriving #SafetyFirst #DriverMonitoringSystem #JustDrive

🚗 Can you remember the last time you were stressed while driving? Did your palms sweat? Did your heart begin to race faster than your vehicle? In the automotive context, stress is one of the enemies of road safety. One of the industry’s goals is to develop technology that will keep us safe when our bodies can’t. Now, before we teach vehicles how to properly detect stress, we must better understand it. In our free handbook, our DMS experts Anna Stróż and Olga Zdzienicka dive deep into the notion of stress, methods of driver stress assessment, effects of stress on driving safety, and current market solutions for stress detection or mitigation in the automotive context. It’s a great read for 2024, especially if you are an automotive enthusiast. In the end, what is today’s dream may be tomorrow’s reality. ⬇️ Download the handbook for free here: https://lnkd.in/dxDBNn-3 #DMS #automotiveindustry #drivermonitoring #roadsafety

Did you know that vehicles from model year 2007 onward have shown a higher risk of fatal injury for belted occupants in the rear seat compared to those in the front? To address this gap, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute's updated moderate overlap test now includes an additional ATD positioned in the second row behind the driver and uses new metrics focusing on injuries commonly seen in rear-seat occupants. XSENSOR's High-Speed (HS) Impact system plays a key role in these new metrics, with pressure sensors on vests worn by the ATDs to measure seatbelt positioning during impact. Many automakers have made significant progress since the initial ratings were released in December 2022. Learn more about XSENSOR's role in the IIHS Crash Test Protocol Update here: https://lnkd.in/gPBFC75x
🆕 IIHS challenges automakers with tougher TOP SAFETY PICK award criteria. Here are the safest 2024 models you can buy: https://lnkd.in/ekTvDM_T. The new criteria are challenging manufacturers to offer better protection for back seat passengers and improve their pedestrian crash avoidance systems.
