Boom in international travel expected for three-day New Year holiday https://lnkd.in/gKZeCFu4 China is expected to see an average of 1.56 million inbound and outbound passenger trips a day during this weekend's three-day New Year holiday, more than five times as many as last year, when international travel was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Immigration Administration said on Thursday. The number is 90 percent of that in 2019.

China is continue to open up. Singapore and China aim to establish a 30-day mutual visa exemption to revive travel beyond pre-pandemic levels. The proposal was announced during the 19th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation meeting - the highest-level annual bilateral forum between Singapore and China. Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong announced plans to bolster flight connectivity and support tourism. This initiative follows China's resumption of the 15-day visa-free policy for Singaporean travelers.
