As other people on here, including David Powell, have argued much more eloquently than me, it is immensely frustrating that debate around how we are going to secure a liveable future for us all has ended up focused on a completely unrelatable figure - £28 billion - rather than on how life could be better for us if we chose to do things differently. It's a failure of politics, and it's a failure of imagination too. I've written quite a bit about the power of imagination - inspired by people like Rob Hopkins - and his excellent book, From What Is To What If. 20 years ago my local MP at the time, John Battle, invited me along to a community meeting - Better Things For Bramley - to share a vision of how things could be better than they were. I shared a big vision, and some of it was ridiculous, some of it tongue-in-cheek. So much so that people laughed at loud at some of the ways I suggested life might be different in west Leeds in 2024. But it turns out that some of what we talked about that day eventually came true. Through the immense hard work of so many local people involved with Bramley Baths. A lot of my clients have positions where they serve the world’s and humanities best and the other day me and my client who works U.N discussed the above question. When do we become ineffective and take less wise decision but we actually have space to take 5 minutes paus, and do a simple thing as going to the toilett or drink water. Make a different between if you are working directly on ground in the middle of the war or extreme situation, or if you not. For a long time of my life I worked with doing ”briefing ”, afterwork, with people who either had worked for a long time in war or where working in special forces. Just be observant if you have a position, as a changemaker, but you are not directly in the war and chaos, so you don’t build war and chaos in your own privatelife. Remember the people/team that are working on ground are away from families, and are trained to strecth themself , and directly it doesn’t affect their families. (Depends how you see it, but I am sure you understand my point). •If you build new sustainble structure global start asking: Do I live sustainble myself, do I have the same structure privately that I build for a bigger collective? •If you handle chaos and war collectivly in a strategy way , are you taking care of conflict privately? It is great to sacrifice everything to serve the collective, and do our duties, but we also need to look closest, when we have a partner and children. Align: 1) Yourself 2)Closest collective 3)Collective To understand the healthy, sustainble and collectivly justice boundiries.

Is everybody angry? Collective outrage can play a positive role in society, but it can also be a destructive force. When it's amped up by social media and emotional contagion, collective outrage stifles open dialogue and demonizes mistakes. When it comes to community building, this highlights the importance of fostering environments that encourage constructive dialogue and empathy, steering away from toxic outrage to harness collective energy for positive change. Recently, I was reading an article from Adam Kahane from Reos Partners on his theory of social transformation. He drew three axis: that of love, power, and justice. I noticed a big sign of relief in myself that someone is finally talking above love in theory of social transformation. I also loved it because I thought to myself, "this is exactly the intersection that inspires me the most". Rather than trying to explain this axes of love, justice and power, three questions emerged for me from these axes: How do we strive for wholeness? What separates us and how to we belong ? How do we compost modernity's shit (a question from Vanessa Andreotti)? I think the last question that I took from Vanessa Andreotti moves us Beyond Justice, beyond the dimension of fairness and equality, rather to the complexity of indigeneity and with that - modernity's human construct (of what is to be human) being composted. And I have been wondering by the way, whether all three axes (whether love or power or justice) moves us from fragmented to inter-dependency and inter-being. Curious to hear from anyone ;)

Generally speaking, those ascribing to the vision of the anointed push for sweeping/grand social programs, do not adequately take into account human tendencies and shortcomings, and are incapable of course corrections when needed. This is nothing new. From Thomas Sowell: "Adam Smith took a very similar position, while seeing the more general issue as a conflict of visions between the doctrinaire with an 'ideal plan of government' who 'seems to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chess-board' and the more modest reformer who will adjust his policies to 'the confirmed habits and prejudices of the people' and who, when he 'cannot establish the right,' will 'not disdain to ameliorate the wrong.'" ~ Thomas Sowell, The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy (1995)
