[World Cities Summit] The 9th edition of the World Cities Summit will be held from 2 to 4 June 2024, in Singapore. This 3-day event comprises the main conference and other key events such as the WCS Mayors Forum, WCS Young Leaders Symposium, the Lee Kuan Yew World Prize Award Ceremony and Banquet, and an exhibition. The theme for WCS 2024 is Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Rejuvenate, Reinvent, Reimagine. Truly thriving cities are those which deliver on well-being for all in the city, and across generations. The ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) has released its 2023 Country and City Rankings for hosting international events. 💡 We took a closer look at the Top 40 Ranking of the #2023GDSIndex alongside the #ICCA Top 40 City Rankings, and we noticed a pattern. Ten cities (in no particular order) appear in both lists: #Gothenburg, Sweden #Oslo, Norway #Copenhagen, Denmark #Helsinki, Finland #Stockholm, Sweden #Barcelona, Spain #Brussels, Belgium #Montreal, Canada #Sydney, Australia #Bangkok, Thailand  💪 It is encouraging to see cities leading in both hosting #InternationalMeetings and advancing sustainability efforts.
