It's February, which means it's #blackhistorymonth. A great time to highlight and celebrate the contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout history. If you work in the #HVACR industry, there's one name you should definitely know - Frederick McKinley Jones. He was an inventor and entrepreneur who revolutionized refrigerated transport. Jones designed the first practical, affordable refrigeration system that could be installed on trucks and railroad cars. This allowed perishable goods like produce and meat to be transported long distances without spoiling. His refrigeration units used an innovative automatic control system. This maintained preset temperatures for days without supervision. Jones received over 60 patents for his groundbreaking work. The impact of Frederick Jones' refrigerated transport technology was immense. It enabled national and global food distribution on a scale never before possible. #bannister story On the morning of May 6, 1954 , Roger Bannister's broke the records of running a 4-minute mile barrier which was widespread believed that it is not attainable. the entire running fraternity, physiologist , doctors believed that human body cannot achieve and in doing so, body will make tremendous harm to body. Roger a doctor by profession refused to accept the status quo and ran a mile in under four minutes — 3:59.4 on 6th May Few takeaway from his inspiring run: 1. Bannister did not let the naysayers and "experts" who claimed the 4-minute mile was unattainable deter him. He remained steadfast in his belief that it was possible. 🙅♂️ 2. Even when he faced setbacks and injuries during his training, Bannister persevered and used the pain and "humiliation" to push himself further. His resilience and refusal to give up were crucial to his success. 💪 3. After Bannister broke the record, his achievement had a profound "ripple effect." Within just three years, over 16 other runners had also broken the 4-minute mile barrier. Bannister had not only accomplished the feat himself, but had also inspired and empowered others to redefine the limits of human potential. 🏃♂️💨 Bannister's story demonstrates the transformative power of self-belief. 🙌 By challenging the prevailing narrative and refusing to be constrained by conventional wisdom, he was able to achieve the seemingly impossible and paved the way for others to follow in his footsteps.
