The Truth About College 📚 & The American Dream🇺🇸 Can we just be HONEST? You don’t have to go to college. 🤷♂️ We all see the change in the narrative: first they said we need students that are college ready, now they say we need students to be college AND career ready. Truthfully, they are selling a dream that isn’t for everyone! There’s a reason why college campuses are gigantic and beautiful - they promise opportunities but rarely deliver. That’s when you have to ask yourself: where does the money come from?? 💸 We’re all being sold a DREAM. It works for some people, but we get distracted by the fact that we all still have the opportunity & freedom to pivot and make our own dreams happen on our own terms. Most people work in fields completely unrelated to their college studies. If you work in a field unrelated to your college degree I’d love to hear your story. Let me know in the comments! 👇🏼👇🏼 💥 Full episode of What’s Your Problem Podcast available everywhere! 💥 https://lnkd.in/d7XEk6K

Can confirm I picked this episode!
📣 It's #StaffPick Tuesday! This episode pick is from our Post-Producer Darrin Wood: "From laughing about Steve's kid not being able to play a video game to talking about a program that helps students of color get to college. This episode is not only full of laughs but also breaks down some of the issues with higher education in America. Steve tells Tulaine about his story of losing $2,000 on a down payment for college he knew he couldn't afford and didn't go to. And how that and other events inspired him to create Bottom Line. I loved this episode because deciding where to go to college was a big decision financially for me as well. Steve's organization helps students make informed decisions about college and much more." 🎧 You can listen to "What’s Up with Higher Education in America? with Steven Colón" on Say More with Tulaine M. wherever you get your #podcasts or click here: https://lnkd.in/ef9s9wc5 New Profit
